I have been to Muscat and I think it is a lovely city - maximum of 3 nights. And just explore other parts of Muscat especially around the Salalah region in the south. And Sultan Qaboos Masjid is one of the best I have seen and I have prayed in many masjids around the world.

Me and my colleague visited Oman between September and October, that was a pure business trip but we did have some time off, there are some pros and cons of muscat, first it was too hot being European we were unable to visit places during the day and the life starts after sundown, my friend even couldn’t stay outside for long. But that’s nature can’t change it. We have been to sultan Qaboos mosque must day a wonderful piece of art the souk was some thing normal you see in any Arab country not much history a sea side again didn’t want to burn ourself during day time. Lots of Rocky Mountain, but found nothing special. I loved Omani people and their hospitality though they are so cool and laid back people not like big western countries. Really loved our times with local omanis and must say a very honest nation. The airport staff needs some training the immigration guy took nearly 2 hours to check some 15 people really had a bad experience. To summarise this Oman is a place to visit once but not really much to do there.
