A pale foundation recommendation for you Katie is Max Factor's Lasting Performance foundation in 100 Fair. It is the only foundation I can use on my really pale skin. [I have Snow White colouring; white skin with cool pink undertone and dark hair.] It has no orange at all and doesn't oxidise. I have really dry skin and it is a smooth, medium coverage cream foundation that doesn't cake as the day goes on. I've tried other pale foundations over the years and find them cakey, chalky and drying, something to with the pigments needed to create the fair shades, but the Lasting Performance is a hero product that has been in production for literally years. You might enjoy. 😄

This video was such a treat! I could listen to you talk about your favorite skin care and makeup products all day… I discovered the Kibbe Body Type System four years ago and have been studying it a lot - it has been a real game changer. I have learned so much about myself, understanding why certain clothes that I think look great on other women don't look good on me, and why certain hairstyles or makeup styles don't flatter me. I am also a theatrical romantic, and you may laugh, but I thought about you then and was pretty sure you were the same type. What you said about contouring is so true: we don't have enough dramatic energy and so it looks a bit off on us. 😅 Anyway, I would be very happy if you would like to talk more about your experience with Kibbe. Another similarity between us: I also have very fair skin (and dark hair) and I can't find a foundation that is light enough with many brands. Have you tried Estée Lauder Double-Wear Stay in Place makeup? I use 1C0 Shell and am very happy with it....

Yes indeed, more beauty videos please. And if you don't mind I'm also interested in how you ask for the beautiful haircut that you have. I have Hashimotos too and my hair goes through periods of being very thin. Hairdressers keep wanting to give me blunt cuts, which I know are recommended for thin hair, but it just flattens and accentuates the thinness of my wavy, thin hair. I need layers but without creating wisps. Your hair looks gorgeous.

Oh I love the new intro Love this update on makeup and skincare, one of my favourite segments, besides the ballet content 🙊 Also, love seeing the same chest drawer in the back, it travelled with you everywhere. I have the same problem with foundations. I REALLY love the Anastasia Beverly Hills foundation. Idk if you have dryer skin type, but I'm 32, and it doesn't cling to anything I don't want it to on my face. It just sits on top of everything. I love it personally. I hear you on the foundation struggle. In my college theatre program we were required to wear Ben Nye, and their 0 which is their lightest foundation was too orange for me, but I couldn't wear anything else because they were too dark for me! It's also really interesting what you said about the Kibbe body types. I'm a romantic and I don't look good with contour either, and I always just thought I wasn't any good at contouring. Like you, I'm very pale with cool undertones - but as I got closer to 40, I became a bit more neutral and changing foundation shades was a challenge. But here are two suggestions: 1) Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (w/SPF 20) in the shade 0N1 Petal - I have an oily nose and chin, so I use the oil-free version, but they also make a regular formula, same shade. It's HIGHLY pigmented so you can use it as a foundation. 2) MAC Studio Fix Fluid (w/SPF 15) in the shade N4 - It's also oil-free, so I don't know if it'll be too drying for you. FYI, it comes in a glass bottle that doesn't have a pump. If you want one, you have to buy that separately. I'm also a fan of MAC's Modesty Creme Lipstick - It's a great neutral shade, not too brown. I haven't worn it in a few years and you've convinced me to go back to it. And if you're looking for something new, I've always been a fan of the Fresh Sugar Lip Balm Hydrating Treatment. It's more pigmented than most tinted lip balms - my go-to colors are Petal and Plum (much more sheer than you think). Hope this helps and good luck!

The MAC studio cream to powder foundation - apply it with a blender for only a sheer look but if you want to build it use a round and dense kabuki 😘 doesn’t move (even when wearing glasses) and you wouldn’t look oily the entire day😉

Have you tried working with a makeup artist at Sephora? Make Up For Ever Ultra HD was the perfect fit. My daughter uses Y205 which is very light in color and fairly neutral. The foundation is a liquid delivered in a pump. It’s a thinner consistency and builds beautifully, even over acne. It’s really a great foundation and it comes in a WIDE range of colors. You might find something there. For a face tint with a high SPF, I recommend Bareminerals Complexion Rescue in either Opal (very fair and slightly cool/pink) or Birch (fair and slightly warm/yellow neutral). I flip back and forth between these two and sometimes mix them together. It comes in a tube so it’s a bit messier to use. I don’t consider it buildable. It’s good when you want a one and done for every day use. Good luck on your search!

Hi Kathy! About the foundations being too orange, I recently learned that color corrections might be a way easier path to fix this issue. I'm not as pale as you but my skin is also cool toned, and the brands tend to favor neutral to warm tones on their color range. What I've been doing recently is mixing a teeny tiny amount of purple/violet/lavander cream eyeshadow to my foundations and it works wonders to fix the orange/yellows. In Brazil the go-to product for this is called "BT Velvet" by Bruna Tavares, which is sold as a multipurpose thing (eyeshadow, blush, lipstick), I don't know what international product would be an equivalent unfortunately but I'm sure there is one (maybe a purple color corrector liquid concealer? is there such a thing?)

Fellow pale girl here. The struggle is real I live in Scandnavia so you would think it's easier here , but it really isn't. The last foundation I found that matched perfectly was from Make Up Forever, but they don't make it anymore. However, I've been meaning to to try out Nyx, as they at least have a concealer that matches me. Also fun fact about MAC: their warm and cool tones are the opposite of every other brand - so even though I'm cool toned I would be a warm in MAC (if they carried a shade pale enough for me which they didn't a couple of years ago.)

Pale makeup wearer here: get yourself a white foundation/concealer mixer. Leaves you less at the mercy of the makeup brands. Also, Rare Beauty has a fantastic range of shades and undertones on the light end. I was shocked when I went into Sephora to get matched to their concealer and a slightly brightening shade for me was like 6 shades into the range, which never happens. Formula for both the foundation and concealer are lovely by all accounts. I think you'd like it if luminous silk is a favorite formula for you.

I currently use the Maybelline Fit Me Matte in shade 105 and it looks okay, bit mote neutral than I would like but oh well at least it is not pink. What I learned is to use as little as possible and rather rely on concealer (but also not too much). Concealed I use is Shape Tape, it goes light enough but it is super drying so I wouldn't recommend 😅

Depending on the company, “Porcelain” is used to denote a cool tone - usually an ultra pale beige with a pink tone. It is the lightest shade. “Alabaster” is used to denote the next lightest shade and it is considered neutral. “Ivory” is the next lightest shade and is neutral warm. Hope that helps!

For Kibby Body type, I always thought you are a sort of Classic, coz you have a long line, but it might be just a camera illusion, I am a Flamboyant Gamine haha, I have been into Kibby Body type for a few years now.

😂I have been studying kibbe and essence since the pandemic started! I have typed so many people that now have started to type people as a side business! Also Lisa Eldridge has some great pale foundations in neutral tones.

@@kathryn_morgan I def recommend incorporating essences to your kibbe. That's prob the reason why you thought you were a Kibbe Soft Classic as your face has a very strong Classic essence.

I think I may be even paler than you and I feel your pain when it comes to finding foundations for fair skin. I've found Dior has the best range of fair shades to choose from.
