Current detector circuit / ac current tester

Friends in this circuit we will use a 555 timer ic and some simple components for making the non contact voltage tester circuit.

Can the Copper Wire Antenna be lengthened to say 6 feet long, so I can see if a remote Pump is receiving 220 VAC to run when the LED is lit, or not. Would it still see the Voltage that far from the PCB? Many thanks.

mine can detect from 5inches, i have made it with 3 NPN BJT transistor...

Dear sir, in my opinion in order to make more strong, dedector coil is made like have two connection point. According to the circuit one end of coil should be connected to the 2 pin of 555, the other end of coil is not connected somewhere, free. Only soldered to the free connection hole of pcb for strong connection. Best wishes.
