In this Physics video lecture in HINDI for class 12 we explained the basic fundamentals of current electricity. The electric current is the flow of charge and it is defined as the rate of flow of charge through any cross section of a region (conductor). The electric current is the ratio of charge flown to the time taken. As the unit of charge, in S.I., is coulomb and that for time is second, the unit of electric current is coulomb/second. This is also known as ampere (A). Hence, we say 1 ampere current is there, if 1 coulomb charge is flown through any cross section in 1 second.
Current in conductors is due to the flow of electrons and the direction of that is called the direction of the conventional current and its opposite direction is considered to be as the direction of the conventional current.

Sir I have one doubt. If q=(+-)ne it means where n = no. Of electrons deficit or excess for +ve or -ve charge body resp..my question is how we will explain in the concept of current i.e I = Q/t = ne/t here we just said that no of electrons flows through the cross section instead of using the word no of electrons deficit or excess for a cross sectional area..I hope you will understand what's my doubt is and will reply me. I really likes you lecture sir You teach really good ...

Because the direction of conventional current is possitive to negative direction .सर मेरा प्रश्न इसलिए है क्योंकि हम लोग धारा के दिशा को electron के गति के विपरीत दिशा में मानते हैं ।तो क्या धारा केवल conventional current के कारण ही धारा बहता है ।

Electron flow is the cause & current is net effect....Actually voltage is the work done on electron charges to move & hence the driving force from high potential to low potential....This flow itself is first of all some rate (charge flow per unit time) is called current....Hence, electron flow is actual mechanism in conductor & current is what me measures this effect....There is no any relevant notion that charge & current flows simultaneously.....

Basically current is just flow of charge so it's direction is where the charges move. But we use conventional current (i.e from +ve to -ve) in our calculations universally. "This is from my understanding so plz correct me if I am wrong I too am a learner"

Electric current is just the measure of extent of charges which flows under applied voltage in unit time (s). Electricity is actually the electric field which encourages the charge to flow under voltage difference.. Flow of charges (current) is consequence as soon as electric field is applied...Application of electric field is the necessary condition for current to flow...

Means, as long as external voltage imposition exists, there is continuous flow of electrons in conductor which is in equilibrium with the flow of positive charges (But actually positive charges are perceived to be flow relative to the motion of negative charges). Positive terminal of the battery or conducting wire is the terminal which attracts the electrons while rejecting the positive charges but both these attraction & repulsions are in equilibrium with just opposite direction. Electric field is actually enforces electrons to flow under decreasing potential difference. Is my understanding correct ?? Plz, suggest me....

See i cannot explain you more simple way. Current=charge/time that means more the current more the charge. Protons have positive charge, electrons have negative. If current is moving, electron will move opposite to it. That's what negative mean i guess.

It is a convention first used by Benjamin Franklin because he didn't know about electrons. Electron was discovered 150 years later. We still use this convention.

Sir I have doubt.... 🤔 We know that ki electron bhi negative charge carry karta h and proton positive.. . Jb conductor ko hum potential difference provide karte hai toh electron positive terminal ki taraf jata hai toh current us k opposite direction mai move karti hai but proton toh strongly bound hota hai nucleus k sath wo toh move nahi kar sakta.. Jb electron positive terminal ki taraf flow kr raha hai toh es charge/ current ko opposite direction mai koon le ja raha hai... 😀 m so confused 🤔

But actual current electron k flow ki hai, ye method America k alawa puri countries mai bataya jata hai, conventional current kuch bhi nhi h esko sirf suppose keya jata proton ki waja se but proton apni jaga se nahi hilta h but real mai current electrons ki waja se hoti h...
