@@DannyShayTarot I fell down our front hill here on the way to our parking space, and totally shattered my upper arm bone, fracture my scapular in five places. I’ve never broken a bone before, but I know my instinct was to do a gymnastics roll to avoid hitting any of the four trees with my head. How did this happen? I was carrying a bag full of library books in my left hand, purse, water thermos, and home baked goodies for my hair dresser, who is the only person in the area certified in cutting black or multiracial hair like mine (3 different types of curl), so I could gift her, since I only get my hair cut 2-3 times a year. A large magpie flew out of a bush as I came around the corner of our apartment building, completely startled me, and that left me off balance. Which then led me to trip on a tree root, side of concrete walkway, which then led to my attempt at doing a Simone Biles gymnastic turn and flip. Completed the exercise and avoided the trees. So. Three days later I was selected for surgery, due to the complexities which I had, with no guarantee I would regain a lot of motion- on my dominant side. I was asked if I would allow senior medical students and residents in orthopedics to watch the surgery. Of course I did. Former ER nurse who knows that medical science is based on male human anatomy, not female. So, all these students and doctors need to know first hand female anat9my and bone structure can be vastly different. As it was, the X-ray did not show that though the lower half skeleton has large bones, large feet, apparently my shoulders, collar bone and arm bone are extremely tiny. So tiny in fact that the surgeon who is the very first female Dean of Orthopaedics here in Calgary, wasn’t sure they could get the stainless steel replacement to fit, graft onto the present bone site. And yes, my scapular fracture was the worst she’d ever seen. So, 8 hours of surgery later, I was back together with surgical cement, extra shards of bone around the graft site to hopefully work. That was March 13th. 2 months post surgery, I can write cursive again, I can lift either my phone, or one of those huge old fashioned Sterling case desk staplers, my thermos full of water. I can chop all but the largest, hardest of vegetables and fruit. I can make dinner. I can bake if I prep the day before. But I can’t put my hair up by myself. I cannot raise my arm to shoulder height yet. No idea if I will swim laps again, or have the most elegant table manners again. Nor can I drive-yet. But I’m glad to be here, no further head injuries, concussions, etc. very glad for technology at this point.

When I see light houses I think of the Shirley Temple movie, "Captain January". Captain January brings to mind the song "Right Somebody to Love". I truly don't think a lot of the students understand the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Most adults do not fully understand either. Maybe all the students are trying to say "Give Peace a Chance" just like John Lennon suggested (and did you say "Come Together"?)
