Although my biological father chose a life of drugs and dysfunction, I was blessed from a small age to have a bonus dad enter my life and truly uplifted and adored me. It was a shock at his funeral for some to learn I was not his biological daughter. What a blessing it was to have had him.

He loved her and adored her with all his heart, and respected her and made 4 children because of it. I'm with Vivica. I had my dad in my life, parents are still married over 35 years, but I still dated bums. My parents were never comfortable talking to me about boys and sex, and only pushed education and career, so I didn't have anyone to talk to as I maneuvered through my dating life. Dont assume you missed out because your father wasn't there.

I had a great dad. He was always there when I needed him. Since, he passed away. I wish, he and I were closer. I realized there is so much more we could have shared together. That I overlooked, when he was alive. Overall, he was an amazing dad. Who was always present and there. He and my mom were married for 50 years. He was a very hard working and loving guy. Its good, to have a good father in your life, that you can count on and respect. That loves you unconditionally and shows you how a man supposed to treat a lady. That's, what my dad was and did..

I found out when I was 25 (I'm 39 now) that the man who I thought was my father actually wasn't. He was a crackhead anyway and was never there for me so it wasn't a great loss however it was painful because now I have no one to hold that space. Not even a crackhead!! I still to this day do not know who my father is. I identify with all of you ladies for different reasons and I am so grateful for you all.
