Do you find that because the light is only 48” you get dead spots on the sides? Would you personally prefer a light that goes completely across the tank(72” light vs 48”)?

Can this be set for complete 24 hour automation? I just want to set it to the current time, and let it ramp up/down at sunrise/sunset and go thru the moon phase all on it's on. Will this one do that? Thanks!

I don’t think it will do that - as then it will require a calendar type setting as well. I have one I picked up used from another hobbyist-it does look and work nice so far., but I have not put it thru its pace.

Do you still use this light? I'm cycling a 72" African Cichlid tank, for Haps and Peacocks. The tank has a black painted back, sand substrate with large rocks, natural. I've been researching this light and the new Fluval 3.0. Any recommendations? Thanks!

It is impressive. Kinda like, dont judge a book by its cover. It only has 1 strip of LEDs, but MAN, it is really bright!

Hello I got the current pro plus.. had no luck in setting On Off timer so I sent it back and received a new one.. still cannot set on off timers.. called Current they never called back.. Did you have any problems with on off timer? Setting the clock is fine.. but after setting on/ off the light doesn't shut off..it doesn't even come on at the specified time.. Any suggestions? thanks much Joe

That is strange Joe. I don't use the timer feature personally. I hope they call you back

I have both. The plus pro in my opinion is brighter than the pro. It also has more options than the pro. And it's brighter. The pro works just fine as well. If you look at my videos, the Mdoka white Lip tank has the pro, and my 220 show tank has the plus pro. Hope that helps. Either will be great, but I would take the plus pro.

Hey I have 2 of the plus pro 48" on my 90 gallon freshwater, I was wondering if it was normal for the housings of the lights to get warm?

They only seem to do it when I run them on "daylight" which would make sense, since they are more intense than any other option

They are warm about 5 mins after I turn on the "Daylight" effect, with the Moonlight effect the housings do not produce any heat im guessing since they are not burning as intense.

Nice light. I got the plus and the only complaint I have about it is the remote. It feels really cheaply built and the custom color buttons love to auto reset at random times.

48-60, so that way if you ever upgrade to a larger tank it will still work nicely
