Oooo, love that new Sailor pen! Yay! So glad you are enjoying the Quetzalcoatl ink :) That Robert Oster ink does look really dry in that pen ... too bad cuz the swatch is so lovely!

I pulled it out because I watched a video this morning of a fellow enthusiast mixing inks to get a dupe for Robert Oster x Desk Bandit The Great Owl and I think this Viola is very similar in color. I thought about ordering it but they want like $20 to ship it from Australia.

I like the Sailor Yamadori in the Funky Lake Esterbrook. I might have to get a bottle of that. LOL! I also like the sample that came with pen but like you said not a perfect match.

Thanks! The Funky lake ink is nice don't get me wrong but.... I think this sailor pairing is spot on. 😆 But this Sailor ink all jokes aside, is stellar. One of my favorites.

Hi Lorelei, that Robert Oster viola ink is most likely very dry as its a dusty purple. And Idk about the wetness of Conklin pens, but I've never heard much about them being wet, so you'll just have to try a wetter purple ink to combine with your conklin :)

Dusty purples are dry!? Never knew that! Huh. I also had better luck later when I angled the conklin down more but sadly that feels uncomfortable. 😋

@@HandmadebyLorelei Yeah, any dusty inks tend to be drier. Somethinga bout the chemical recipes make them so lol, but that doesn't mean all dusty inks are dry. I have just found that trend in the inks I've used (dusty, chromashading purples like milky ocean, viola, rose gold antiqua, etc.)

that strip is called a lable and the device to make it is a lable maker I know it is confusing I kept calling it a letter stamp but I was corrected by the staples employee very abruptly so :)
