Balancing so many things in such a small shared space is difficult. I'm pretty sure none of us here mind you being honest about how you're feeling. I personally don't care for vloggers who are always perfectly happy and positive. That isn't what life is like. Be you, Hannah.

Very real, very raw. That's what I appreciate about you most Hannah. I've been telling my wife that the #vanlife portrayed on youtube and Instagram is only one perspective - the one people want everyone to see. Behind the scenes, it is a whole lot different. As is the added stress that comes with getting work done in order to afford the lifestyle that you live. So thank you for sharing this insight into what it's really like to be a youtuber with us.

As a fellow creative, I feel your stress and found myself nodding in vigorous agreement with all the points you brought up. I work 7 days a week doing freelance work and retail to stay afloat. Sacrificing sleep for deadlines and constantly questioning self-worth and then reminding myself that I am doing things that me 5 years ago would have killed to do. Keep doing what you're doing Hannah, because you're bloody amazing at it! Also, I'm getting me a Mochi jumper!

Travel is not easy. It is healthy to decompress. Just because a past you or other people idealize an experience doesn't mean that the experience with reflect that ideal. You don't need to apologize for feeling and talking about those feelings. This was a beautiful video and you did a good job. I appreciated the piece of you talking in a field and sharing your emotions. It is a moment that is human. Thank you for sharing pieces of your life that allow us to see and experience things we might never take the opportunity to experience.

Aww Hannah! Glad to see you getting it off your chest. It’s hard not to be strict to yourself as a creative person, you want to do your best and sometimes it feels it’s not enough and it gets overwhelming. I think people can feel when you put your all into a video and that’s what makes it best. Even if it was filmed on the phone I think as long as the emotions are transmitted then it’s all good. Keep going, love your content , you inspire me a lot xxx

Hey Hanna, I really like how natural you are with all this. Usually all Vlogs, Social Media portrays that everything is happy, awesome, life is beautiful types. I am glad you're putting such videos out too, it's kind of showing reality of what's going at the back. You're doing great & I agree, travelling in a van is challenging. Have a good one mate! If I had gone to Walmart three times in a single day, I imagine I wouldn't be having a good time either. 😅 Regardless you are putting together some great content. The drone footage is consistently beautiful. Thanks for taking us along on the trip without us having to experience all the inconveniences, annoyances and fatigue. 👍
@robynlawlor43895 жыл бұрын
I feel like the best way to avoid stress while traveling is to stay in locations for longer periods of time. It gives you more time to get the perfect drone shots and video footage. You can return to locations without stressing as much. Some days can be spent wondering and discovering places most people skip due to a shortage of time.

As someone who did 2 rounds of 8 months of Accutane.. I highly recommend C.O.Bigelow's My Favorite Night Balm. You can find it at Bath & Body Works or online. It goes on like a thick gloss but stays in place all night.. all day... I had like 5 of them stashed everywhere when I was on it. :) Good luck! It's worth it in the end.

Venting on daily stresses is sometimes a must do thing. Even travelling has is stress point, and adding all you do on top of those combined with close quarters, and van life. I can imagine what the rougher may be like. Everything may not be all roses and sunshine, but I glad you got it out. Even though this was recorded awhile ago. I am curious on what your next big adventure will be.

Loved the lifetalk. After I was gushing over the drone footage ;) There is always pressure. You can make solving problems a little bit more enjoyable by accepting the struggle and finding peace in it. If you relate to being overwhelmed by your emotions you could take some time during the day to take a step back and sense your inner impulses. Find out where they come from and why they are there. Maybe identify with the proces instead of the result? Everyone is a work in progress. The most important conversation you'll have in your life is with yourself. In that dark room you can shape the person who can walk out of that dark room and face whatever life throws at it. Whatever you feel, you're always going to feel it. Fear of failure and anxiety, the goal is not to make it go away. The goal is to *expect a much harder fight*. Every day. And to get to a place where you can handle more than is thrown at you. But that takes a bit of soulsearching. Knowing all your buttons. So you can have control over your mind. I like David Goggins: "the mind has the tactical advantage over you, at all times". You have to decide whether you believe all that your mind tries to make you believe.

Another really well done video. You are smart enough to recognize the needs that arose from being together in such a small space (even with the great outdoors available). I know it was a nice van, but it's a very confined space when you have to work from it, and live in it. And you look great, I'm sure being in that low humidity environment was the biggest culprit for all those "dry" symptoms.

Everyone has different moments in their daily life which will make him or her stressed out and that is okay. It doesn’t matter how “stupid” it sounds to yourself compared to other people’s problems, but you can’t compare to everyone. It’s tough for you and it’s normal to complain, be stressed and frustrated. You’re only a human being and it’s way more authentic to show the low points of a trip as well. Thank you for another amazing video!

Have just bought the Mochi t-shirt! Talking of which, an Asian supermarket has just opened up in Nottingham, where I live in the UK. It is selling Mochi in boxes - green tea, red bean and chocolate. Does anyone know if Mochi in a box is anything like the Mochi that Hannah gets in her Japanese markets? Or is it a pale comparison? I am intrigued to try it but don't want to be disappointed if it is an inferior product. I would rather wait and try the real thing... one day... when hell freezes over and I afford a trip to Japan.

Its funny. Last year I was travelling along those same roads with my wife. I'm glad we stuck with air b and b's instead of van's. My mom cured me of any desire to try van life when she dragged my sister and me crossed the country in a Volkswagen van back in the hippy days. Its too bad you didn't make it to Roswell NM. They had a film festival going on that could have used an influencer or two to help promote it. If you ever want to go to a film festival and be the only one in the audience who didn't star in or produce a movie, that is the place to go. I loved it.

The background looked beautiful really, while you were on the field ranting. Visually pleasing. So it was the most beautiful rant segment I’ve seen. 😬 Btw, you’re really authentic. The was some of the best video of the trip. Great scenery, some honesty, and some Yoshi being Yoshi. 4:09 Hannah thinks, “dear lord, I actually choose to have this weirdo as my boyfriend.” I can’t help myself, this is sooo bad. You know where you get another SD card? That’s right, back at Walmart. What you’re feeling is perfectly normal. You’re on this great vacation, but you’re also working and paying for the vacation with videos which need to be good enough so enough people watch. You’re with you boyfriend who you miss, but damn this van is tiny. Yup, that stress can add up quickly.

Gambatte, and thank you for showing us the awesome imagery, insights through your travel. About the quality of your videos, your previous vlogs were more constructed to a certain storyline and we as viewers were discovering it with you as you were experiencing it. On the other hand, your trip to the US, its like more a bunch of videos without the story behind it. i dont know if its make sense, or im being biased, but lots of beautiful shots, the Utah drone shots were dope :) From my little experience there's always conflicts when travelling with someone at one point or another, cant escape that, but that can't stop us :) Genki dene. Waiting for the next one.

Living in a space with nowhere to call your own is a stressful thing. Normally, in a house or flat, you have somewhere to pop away to when you are needing quiet time and in a van, especially when it is cold or wet outside, that space is unavailable. If you do van living again, can I suggest you both do trips out of the van where you both go on different trips for the whole day? You can both still Vlog and it gives you the chance to have your own time and then, when you see each other later, you both have different things to talk about that happened in the day. I lived in a tiny house with 4 adults and one and a half bedrooms when I first got married and it was a nightmare. Talking about these things is a good way to relieve the stress and is really normal and totally healthy. So go for it.

It’s totally okay for you to vent! I getchu. I also was on Accutane and it has a side effect of making you depressed. Also, it’s kinda whack haha.
