I’ve had the same struggles with getting my girls started with gardening. Thank you for sharing your experience. I have found a local ministry and have signed up our family to volunteer. I never would have thought of it!

I love your channel and always leave feeling so encouraged rather than feeling overwhelmed for what I'm not doing. We had such a rough year of life interruptions and seasons of grieving. Right now we are doing reading, writing, math and alternating between a short history or science reading each day we can get to school. I have dropped all the beautiful extras I wanted to do this year and worry often if I'm doing enough, but I am choosing to give myself grace and space to process the past year and I am so excited to start planning for a fresh start. My kiddos are 8, 6, 3 and 2 :)

Thank you for this! In the past, we had a subscription to a box-type activity service much like the pre-k you shared, only for older kiddos. My question for you...what do you do with all the 'stuff' in the box afterwards? I love the idea and all that we had we loved it and it was a hit with our daughter. Having a large family, however, we are limited in long-term space...any thoughts or ideas on how to store/keep? I would like to try this for my littlest next year. thank you!

It is so apparent how God is blessing your family through homeschooling. I loved this recap! Still waiting to see the fruits of my labor in my family regarding homeschooling.....my kids are 11 9,7 and 5 and most days still feel like they're full of fighting and chaos. I'm ready to see some of the fruits!

I noticed that in order to have any success and peace, I have to have established a good amount of discipline. Generally, my husband is better at making this happen, and then in his absence, I enforce the "rules" he has laid down. Punishments are from him when he gets back home. Hope the unsolicited input gives some help! I didn't much want discipline in my home, but then I realized my kids just need it, so I have to get some gumption and make it happen. So, now it does. And homeschooling is such a joy.

Thank you for your honesty ❤️ We did not get to geography either but as you said its scattered through our other subjects. Also, typing and music fell through the cracks as well however we were able to focus on enrichment ☺️

Have you ever looked at The Great World Adventure units? We are starting STOW 1 again next year and I've found one that works well with the text. We've used them before and really enjoyed them.

I love your heart for learning and all of the rich experiences it brings! I have been using Reading Eggs as a supplement this year on the days that I can’t fit an All About Reading lesson. I’m hoping to carry it throughout the summer for review as well.

I loved this! We will be using a Nature Workshop Plus lab kit next year and it is 100% because of your video. We have used other lab kits in the past but when we got this kit, I was blown away! It has me very excited for next year’s Apologia science. I am so thankful that you shared it with us.

Do you have any recommendations for a Bible study class ages 10-12. I am looking to help them navigate many things like bullying, social media, modest clothing, what they watch and what they listen to….none of them are homeschooled and have to walk that tight rope of being surrounded with worldly influences while trying to maintain their innocence as well as being influenced. Any help would be appreciated.

Love your channel so much. I would love to start a Charlotte Mason Co-op. Please make a video outlining how you do it and teach us how we can start one! How long is it? What books do you use? We are joining Classical Conversations simply for the community aspect like you mentioned with the pros. But hands down I would rather have a Charlotte Mason community. I don’t love classical studies but I am willing to add the 20 minutes a day memory work and pay the high prices for my children to give them the community that is otherwise lost in so many other avenues we’ve tried. I couldn’t find any videos detailing your co-op on your channel. Thank you so much! 💕💕💕💕

I'm so glad to hear that the Apologia General Science was a hit. I've purchased the curriculum and the lab kit you have for my rising 7th grade daughter, but suddenly it seems that I'm hearing/reading lots of negatives about this 3rd Edition, particularly because it isn't written by Wiley. I'm debating adding the audio book and/or the videos. Did your daughter use either of these? (Oh, Lord, I just realized I'm using my daughter's KZbin account!)

Yes, please do a video of soak! Also, I’d to hear what’s your favourite age gap with kids :) we have two kiddos and trying to find the right time to have a third (which I’ve always heard is the hardest).
@username000092 жыл бұрын
As an adult with three younger siblings who I grew up with, my favorite age gap is two years because my brother and I often spent those early years playing together. The second gap is nearly seven years and that was tough when my sister hit middle school, but my brother and I adored her when she was a baby and we’re good friends now.
@truejoie2 жыл бұрын
I second the above comment...I have 4 kids and the 2 1/2 yrs gap between some of my kids was perfect as far as being good friends and similar in age but not having 2 complete babies at once. That being said, my boys are 5 years apart and still play together. My daughter, though 9 years older than her baby sister, was so thrilled to have a sis. So the best timing is what works for you, not necessarily the age :)
@abundanceintheson_3162 жыл бұрын
I would agree that the 2 year or so apart is a sweet spot. I have a 9,7,5, and 1 year old. However, I would also don't wait for some perfect magical time or age spacing. JUST Go for it!!!

Wow! Wow That is so awesome you have one of the local brothers teaching and sharing!! ❤️ that makes my heart sing! What a blessing and treasure!! We love teaching and learning Shakespeare with SCM. It truly is the best. I notice when my kids started to read the Bible more independently although we mainly use ESV the KJV really helped them understand Shakespeare better too. Shakespeare is much more fun once you see it all click more in the kids and they are engaged in the stories. So A Child’s geography went the same way here for a lot of the same reasons. Although I liked it and think both older and newer additions are laid out well, my kids did not like it at all. They were starting to hate it and geography overall and begged to stop and go back to what we normally used. So I picked a few things and combined it with others for a bit but then just had to let it go and set it away. So don’t feel too bad. You’re not the only one. Geography and cultures are so nicely woven in so much of the YWAM books and CM method I think it’s hard to get a custom to doing it this way. But it’s a good curriculum just not for us. Thanks for sharing!!
