I loved the variety of curries showcased in this video! The combination of soba noodles and curry was a unique and delicious twist. I'm intrigued by the 100-hour curry at Hungry Curry and would love to try it out. Decades ago, I had my first taste of Japanese curry. There was a little mom & pop shop, maybe just 8 seats, which sold curry rice, curry Udon and I think Udon with prices starting at ¥340 a bowl. Over the years, I went to a variety of shops and I think chicken-katsu curry ended up being my favorite. If you are travelling in Japan, and see a shop... Give it a try! Lots of places to select and lots of different items to order.

I fell in love with japanese curry when I first try it more than 10 years ago. And my favourite curry is surprisingly from a gyudon chain restaurant named tokyo chikara meshi! Unfortunately over the years their branches closed one by one. Earlier this year I got lucky and visit one of their branch in osaka.

Other areas? Shimokitazawa! Now that there has been a spotlight on Kanda in this video, I'm wondering which of those two areas are more famous for curry. I also love the curry I have had in Osaka, but I kind of feel like gate keeping my favorite places since they already sell out every day...

I used to go to this place called the Tokyo express and a bowl of miso soup moved towards me on its own at first I thought I was just drunk but I checked the table to make sure it wasn't wobbly that experience trip me out and I'll never forget it 😮
