Thanks again Shizuka for another wonderful video! Honestly, they all looked amazing but I think the mochi place would be my jam. I love doughnuts and all but a doughnut is a doughnut and a fresh Krispy Kreme straight off the line is perfection! lol Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to your next one!

Always love watching another Anderson! Great content and video production! Would you please consider this type of video in Okinawa, Hokkaido and other less visited parts of Japan off the usual tour circuit if you have the travel budget? 😊 Thank you for the Japanese language lessons along the way - was very helpful to learn about the word ichi in context.

Those donuts were ĥuge and delicious looking! Can you visit Ishikawa some day and highlight their specialities? Hopefully they have recovered from the big earthquake by now. I think if you went and share what is delicious there, it could help the people in their recovery. Best wishes for a wonderful New Year!

The Japanese craftsmanship for pastry & bread is unbelievable. Casual local small-scale bakeries in each Japanese town all sell a variety of standard & specialty breads and pastries in excellent quality. I've never been to Europe and I'm in the US. Good quality pastries/breads are probably easier to come by in Europe than in the States, but my goodness Japanese pastries/breads are so very good at the local unpretentious mom n' pap bakeries, much higher in quality than what can be found generally in the United States. I wish I had a local bakery in my town like the one in Japan.

I love Asian pastries, desserts and cakes in Japan. On rare occasions, I find a good croissant in bakeries that specialised in western baked goods like the ones in Yuda Onsen and in Kanazawa. If you find sourdough donuts in Japan, please do review!! ❤

We need a Shizuka approved pin/stamp/patch XD Whats great about Japan is that, for the most part, if the picture looks good, there is a good chance that it will also be good. Unlike in the West, something that goes viral doesn't always turn out good. And to answer the question in the end, I would love to try the donut. I also saw that Shizuka was back in Canada, would love to see a special episode of Japanese food in Canada (or wherever she is) or something like that.

So, the Darkside Donuts are just german Berliner (or depending on the location you are in Germany, Krapfen or Pfannkuchen) popular here since dekades.....they are good though and they added a personal or local twist and maybe even refined them even further, SUGOI!!!

Here in Germany we have similar items to the "Donuts", with a long long tradition, but they are called "Berliner (like the city) - or Kreppel". Are those the same elements ?
