One thing you missed was the Nautomatic Pilot, an item obtainable only via Too Many Items or commands. It's basically a magnet that goes on boats and comes paired with an item to attract to. The player holds the item and the magnet pulls the boat towards it, but only when the player is off the boat. WX-78 also thinks Wilson is trying to use it to kill him.

That grass boat is really gonna help out Wurt players get seaweed to shore really quickly for snacks. The fact it's just a temporary boat with no commitment means you don't even need to worry about much! No complicated crafting, either! Wurt's really just been eating good recently, huh?

The wonky curse to any character is awesome, thats gotta open so many doors to future plans and mods with other advantagable curses... sure woody and wilba have their were-transformations but coming from a willow main, this is a super refreshing balance going between forms

The only part that I didn't like was the x marks the spot, I've seen this mechanic in some woodlegs mods and I always thought it would be much better to use the treasures that we already have in the game, even more that the update is naval, in my opinion it would be much more interesting to explore the sea, kill the raids, get the location of sunken chests and use pinchin' winch to get sunken chests with improved loot. Overal it looks like a great update.

Theory Wagstaff was at that island cause he wanted to investigate the portal or rift he left behind those pieces of machinery once the monkeys came and he had to leave due to their aggressiveness barley able to collect all the supplies once the monkeys realized that the portal would randomly eject stuff they decided to build a town around it to collect any spoils

My thoughts on how this will buff wurt (who in my opinion is already s tier) :so from this update (this is assuming they will make a way to add swamp turf to the planks eventuality) wurt gets more reeds more fish more fruit (banana and figs since figs are effectively late game wurt meta and cus the pirate captains drop sap so u can get trees faster) summer protection,lightening protection(actuly viable now because you can make a circle around a tree) gold farms (fish farms) merm labor farms (fish farms) sanity farms (fish farms) Speculation: (needs to be tested but these maybe something you could do) farm plots on the planks , maybe something cool happens when you are wonky and u use the celestial portal, wonky could be a meta strat for ruins rushing, maybe you don’t have to take care of the grass tufts if they are spawned by portal, hopefully they add a way to reinforce the docks so they don’t all break, more compact and nicer looking lureplant farm, mabey somthing happens if you put the thing you use to spawn the celestial champion on the portal, mabey the monkeys will get into a rivalry similar to the pigs and merms, mabey they could add fishermerms so wurt could autofarm fish, mabey you could use the auto fishers to auto farm malbatross, mabey you can kill crab king without him getting agro with cannons.

@@TheBeard777 if you have a single trinket, it should act like the divining rod in classic ds. It doesn't have to be a radar per say, but the character react like the trinket is calm, it's vibrating, and of course it's going crazy kf you are close to the island

But is there any downside to being Wonkey? Beard only said it removes downsides, and it also adds considerable upsides as well. Unless you are playing as Wigfrid, Wolfgang, or Wortox, your health stat is not heavily impacted, and if you're playing wigfrid, your diet is now expanded. Tbh if Wonkey turns out to just be an upside then I think that's silly, it's a CURSE for a reason.

So the parts I gathered as most interesting. I think they should make it so the Dock pilling can be used to help establish a player made dock island that can be separated from the mainland. The Polly Roger hat can maybe be used to farm cave holes without using any orange gems, as well as collecting from auto farms. Fish trap can be used in deep ocean maybe to catch large ocean fish 4 at a time.? (I don’t know, I haven’t tested it) Lastly, does this mean it may be possible to have your base made entirely under a waterlogged tree? Or better yet, plant an entire waterlogged Forest as a mega base?

All in favor for this update but the only thing I dislike is how the monkey-raids when you're at sea/on your island (not near near Moon Quay Island) still gives you cursed trinkets. It could be really annoying to deal with if you play with modded characters or you're just too far and not wanting to be forced to swap to wonkey. If the cursed trinket was something that was limited towards Moon Quay island or alternative solution to remove trinkets without going to monkey Queen I think that could be cool too. Overall good sea update 👌🏽

Ok so the only way to play as wonkey is by getting cursed rather than getting them via weaving or just them being free, If only we already had monkey character who knows their way around a boat and could have some cool mechanics. seriously though wonkey just feels like klei taunting us for wanting wilber in dst.

They drop from our inventories, not our hands. Her perk doesn't matter because of that.

The trawlers are probably gonna be good for me, but not really for a good reason. See, my game is so laggy that all sea fishing pole lures glitch out & fly off the map, never landing in the water. So these things are gonna be the only way I can get sea fish!
