Lot of people are of the opinion that it does because you were created perfect in God's image and therefore can only get sick or disfigured if you sinned and God is punishing you. This is why witches and other evil characters have often been depicted with warts, long nose, bad teeth etc. Okay, so what if you were born like that, or with bad eyes or something? Well, either you sinned in a previous life(despite Christianity not preaching that kind of reincarnation) or it is part of God's plan you should be that way so no glasses for you. Can't just go to the doctor and thank God for making people smart enough to be doctors, nope, and somehow you are not included in the deal about sins being forgiven. And if there is a plague like covid, false preachers and holier-than-thou types like to tell everyone that it says in the Bible God protects the faithful and only sinners who do not pray will get sick, proving these people have not read the part where Jesus told Satan that people should not demand God does stuff for them that they can handle themselves. Aside from that, I think there was warnings against touching the sick or dead and something about not cutting your flesh, which some choose to read as "God says no performing medicine!" instead of people 6000years ago teaching their kids basic hygiene. OTOH, there apparently is a part where men are told to force their women to have an abortion if they even suspect she has been unfaithful... Somehow we skipped reading that part at school...
