Fun fact: the Broomhandle Mauser was what Han Solo’s blaster in Star Wars was. It had a flash suppressor welded to the front and a scope attached to look spacey and stuff, but like all the blasters in the Original Trilogy, they were fully functional firearms that fired blanks. That’s where they got the flash for the blasters, they just had to add the bolts in the scene.

If you do a "problem solva" video, you have to use massively over-loaded hand-loads (IV8888 has a series on how over-built they are). I have personally run double-charge hand loads out of a 45 hi-point pistol and it didn't explode. The primers ruptured and gas blew back into the firing pin channel and bent it, but the gun was fine otherwise. Hey Brandon, I had the single scariest experience with firearms in my time today. I’m 14 and was shooting with my dad, trap shooting, and was shooting an Ithaca Model 37. One of my old coworkers is a legit memelord, literally keeps 2 M4 shotguns beside his bed for home defense, runs an M203, suppressors on everything, a few of his rifles have three holes, all that kind of stuff. He was at one point invited to a wedding, and naturally brought a gun as his wedding gift. It wasn't just any gun, oh no. He had it modified. Stripped off all the finish on the slide, really nice engraving, nickel plated it, replaced the plastic grip panels with rosewood, and he even got a sentence engraved into the slide. The story is, brazillian police wanted smgs, so they bought 500 of M712, and called them PASAM. they later went to Rio de Janeiro police. 101 became the Model 1, with the metal shield and foregrip, original wooden stock. Brandon, the 1911 in 6.5 is actually the Pachmayr Dominator, in .308. This was back in the era of lots of rifle caliber pistols for silhouette competitions and handgun hunting. The TC Contender was a big item to come out of this trend... which continues today. There's also the Remington XP-100 and in production today is the 700 CP, and pretty much everyone making a rifle is making some sort of chopped down pistol version. That 1911 grafted to a M1913 Cavalry sabre looks like the result of a couple of horse Cav NCOs having too much free time & far too much whiskey. Either that or an Infantry NCO got transferred to Cav and was pissed about the lack of bayonets, so he decided to be a "problem solva" and make sure everyone had one! Okay... I guess the 1911 was one of those ideas from where they were trying to figure out how to do fighting in trenches, and actually it doesn't look like an absolutely terrible idea from my point of view, I mean, if the blade were shorter, a lot shorter, it could function as a very possibly viable bayonet for a hand gun... Wait; remember the guns Ron Perlman's character had in Blade 2? I know huge blades like those would be more like a hindrance, but if they were instead on a reasonable size, perhaps they could be of use, sort of, in extreme close quarters, or against zombies. Always think of zombies. Also, it is to be noticed the dude who made the "Smith and Methson" went the extra mile and decorated his creation. The thing should be in a museum, it's proper art man :D

The Patton saber with a 1911 probably predates US involvement in WWI. After 1914 (likely the year the prototypes were made) every country in the world saw how useless cavalry was as an actual combative force while mounted because of machine guns, which left cavalry for scouting, or fighting dismounted, and just using the horses to move behind their own lines. The Patton saber (intended to be a cavalry sword) with the 1911 attachment, is not entirely unfounded as far as PRE WWI cavalry weaponry goes. Ever since guns became a thing, the cavalry was trying to find new ways to use them. Be that by firing two muzzle loading pistols, then drawing swords, or the Polish take of putting a gun into an axe. Once repeating handguns (good old wheelie gats) showed up, they became the cavalries main stay, and repeating rifles/carbines thereafter. However, the sword was still the predominant close range weapon for cavalry charges, problem is, you cant use a sword then switch to a carbine/ handgun very quickly while holding the reins of a horse to steer it. Solution? Do what the Polish did. Take a handgun, which is now mechanically more capable and easier to use/reload, and combine it with your primary cavalry weapon, the sword, so you can still steer the horse, while at the same time, shooting and stabbing. Literally if not for the implementation of the machine gun, this design would hold far more merit, and dare I say be the Cavalry's main, "Problem solva," for at least another 2 decades before they could make functional mass produced semi auto rifles to put a bayonet on. Oh and The Thauser is real, and it's Brazilian. www.forgottenweapons.com/submachine-guns/brazilian-pasam/

Criminals don't use Hi-Points. They either use revolvers (85% or so, according to the DOJ) or high-capacity semiautos, usually stolen, usually Glocks. Hi-Points are for poor, law-abiding citizens who can't afford anything else. Well, the pistols, anyway. The carbines are actually some of the best pistol-caliber semiautos you can get. There was a fad of semi-auto mag-grip carbines in the 2000s, just about everyone made at least one model. Now the only ones still around are Hi-Points and Kel-Tecs.
@thatguybrody48192 жыл бұрын
@@Bacteriophagebs well criminals do use Hi-Points as they are usually found dirt cheap at pawn shops or online used. and yeah it's weird that they make pistols that look and sometimes feel iffy but at the same time make carbines that are that good.
@Bacteriophagebs2 жыл бұрын
@@thatguybrody4819 Sure, _some_ criminals use Hi-Points. Virtually any model of modern handgun has been used for _some_ crimes. But they're not even close to the main source of sales as the OP says. Hi-Points are actually really reliable. They're simple blow-back, so they should be. They're accurate, too, for the same reason. The guy who came up with them was really clever. He lived in a place known as "Little Detroit" because it had a lot of auto industry, figured out that die-cast machines and injection-molding equipment was cheap there, and that a die-cast slide would be cheap to make and heavy enough to slow a blow-back action. Put it on a plastic grip and bam! Super-cheap gun. Sure, the ergonomics suck just _all_ the balls, but they work.

Aight so my thoughts are you get a Hi-Point Carbine in 380. Acp, attached a c9 chambered in 40 or 45 acp under the carbine to act as not only a grip but also like a grenade launcher or shotgun but in 40 or 45 as it would only be practical to have the carbine in a smaller and less powerful caliber than the pistol mounted below it. In addition to this I believe a large optic best suited to 1000m + long range shooting would be a natural option for the 380 carbine. Lastly, as the 380 is such a powerful round it would be prudent to attach a large muzzle brake to help with the overwhelming recoil.
