I didnt live on "the bluff", vine city, but i lived literally 2 streets down off of northside drive. The movie isnt real, but its an accurate depiction of what often goes on in the inner city of atlanta (and many other cities). Its as real as it can get without actually being real.

The story of life in the ghetto has been told countless times and for this reason a filmmaker must take care not to repeat what other artist have done and not get caught up in stereotypes. Snow on the Bluff is not a repeat of the past nor is it an exercise in stereotypes but rather a paean to urban America. I never once got the impression this film was self-righteous. These are realistic characters in pursuit of a desire and the obstacles they faced. Sometimes great filmmaking is just that simple.
