I don't think the movie itself promoted violence though. I think it was a showcase to let people see the realities of the hood in motion. It shows all the variables involved in decision making which tends not to be good when you live a lower class life.

It's just a movie and it's fake as shit. I been buying heroin in the bluff since I was 17 and never got robbed and it was all Boi and hard, in the movie he selling X and atupid shit. Omar from the wire produced the movie. The director would take VHS copies and put it in Manila envelopes and get a junkie to spray blood from his syringe all over envelope and throw it on side of atreet for someone to find to watch and create a "buzz" cops found copies and interviewed Curtis and other actors and cleared them all. Sad thing is a couple years ago you could still see Curtis just sitting on his front porch smoking weed and drinking selling crack. I remember seeing him and being like Damn dude couldn't use that little bit of fame and little bit or money to get up out the good. Still just getting drunk selling crack. It was pretty depressing and I was fuxking sticking a needle in my arm as I was thinking "poor guy" lol
