There is imo some weird energy being directed toward Kendrick from too many rappers for my liking. Joey mentioned bandwagon Kendrick fans. I am Gen X. I detested what I was hearing in rap songs many years ago. So, I stopped listening. I wasn’t interested in the negativity and toxicity. In 2024, I heard an artist that caught my attention. I became a fan of his music because I genuinely loved what I heard from all his albums. Because of him, I am now allowing myself to listen to other rap artists’ music again. If Joey put this out at the height of the beef it would’ve been swept away like Rick Ross & Game songs. He waited for the right time & then “bombed first” of the year. I think we should make a clear distinction between hip hop and rap here. I don't think hip hop is competitive, since it's culture and it really wouldn't make sense for culture to be a competition, but isn't rap competitive? It seems to be deep in the DNA of rap that it's competitive ever since some of the first MCs took turns rapping over the same beat that a DJ was spinning. It's natural to compare people doing similar things, whether that be DJ'ing, rapping, breaking etc. so it seems narrow to say that rap has never been conpetitive.

Lying about staring into a solar eclipse to get off Logic’s tour, punching paparazzi, dropping 2000, fighting his photographer… moments, moments moments. I fucks with you Curtiss but callin music “content” is not something I would ever hear you say. Music is music… always has and always will be. The person you were talkin to I salute them. The problem today is artist aren’t artist, they create content more than music.. and not the other way around
@CurtissKingTV2 күн бұрын
@@carldavies4990 Respect, fam. I get where you’re coming from. I struggled with this too. As creators, music is deeply personal, so calling it “content” can feel disrespectful. But from the consumer’s perspective, content simply means something they engage with. It doesn’t diminish the art; it’s just how they experience and interact with it.
@carldavies49902 күн бұрын
@ although content may be something they engage with, the word “content” carries a reductive connotation when applied to music/art. That word tends to group all forms of creative expression together. When we call art “content” we diminish its value and reduce it to a product created just for consumption… rather than a form of expression meant to inspire.

@@carldavies4990We can’t decide what definitions fit which words just because the internet exist and we have bias. Content is any media, service or good available for consumers. You don’t have to like the definition, but it exist the same either way. It’s like how many Americans conflate ignorant with rudeness and loud behavior. Music is content, videos are content, movies, art, books, makeup, medicine, photos, blogs, memes, it’s ALL content.
@carldavies499014 сағат бұрын
@@Siculidee you’re missing the point. It’s not the definition of the word, it’s the context it’s used in. This isn’t about bias; it’s about recognizing language shapes perception. To your analogy: just as it’s important to clarify misunderstandings around the word “ignorant”, it’s also important to challenge how we frame words like “content” when they don’t express the essence of what we are describing. Words carry weight… and I believe you actually made that point for me.

Why hasn’t he said anything about the south dominating for the last decade or so? One year of the west and he’s feeling this way 😭😭

I hope folks are bout done talking about this, I want him and this out my algo so bad. I see mixed comments so Im hopeful. The only silver lining is seeing reactions and chatter about this everywhere has made me go back and enjoy Euphoria reactions again for the 1000th time after not having watched them in awhile. So other than the appetite this topic gives me to go back and enjoy the battle again and find reactions I hadn't seen before along the way, I could really do without having him in my algo, but I know y'all have to eat so I stick around, but the knee jerk reaction to unsub and select do not recommend when I see this is hilarious 😂

This is the first time I've really, really listened to the bars that Joey is dropping, and he's making it sound like... Well. First of all, it sounds like he was waiting for an excuse to jump in but no one gave him one. But it also sounds like he's trying to make it sound like someone was taking shots at him... But nobody really cares about him like that?

I don’t get it. If it was anybody but Kendrick ya would be championing this. I hate the biasness and Curtis I’m disappointed in you bro. Maybe u never wanted the crown and that’s why you’re taking the stance you’re taking 🤷🏽♂️

After two decades of the South running hip-hop, anyone popping out with "too much west coast d-licking" is rightfully going to receive questions and confusion about the timing. It's been about two decades of domination from the south. Was he asleep all this time? Did the crown not matter a decade ago?

I really don't have a problem with going at Kendrick but the West just had a nice 8 months of doing great and bros already salty about that? Tbh alot of the NY rappers and talking heads hv been whispering out the side of their necks at anything West related.
