People wondering about IPS vs. VA should take this into consideration. When it comes to CHEAPER monitors, so not like 550 range, but more like 200-250 range for a 27 inch, then VA panels tend to be superior to IPS. Most cheaper and budget VA monitors just kick IPS ass.

I agree. 1) The FI27Q is a really nice monitor. And 2) I don't see why you would pay 100$ more for the -p either :D
@triple6forty25 жыл бұрын
What annoys me the most, the FI27Q-P is not the exact same like the FI27Q. The FI27Q-P got new Software Features (ANC 2.0, Black Stabilizer 2.0) and DP 1.4. But i dont understand why they advertise IPS 10 bit but they both just have the 8bit+FRC (Source Gigabytes Webpage). So you get with the more expensive FI27Q-P the same but with better Software? What have you done Gigabyte? Btw.: The -P Version is not on sale in europe for now. I hope they add the BS and ANC 2.0 on later updates to the non -P Version. Else it would be really a shame and bad for gigabytes reputation.

It's a confusing result of them 1) wanting to push new stuff 2) not wanting to lose good feedback on previous models. So now you get to choose 3 SKUs that are basically very similar, at least in practice. Honestly, they're good monitors, but pick whichever of the 3 is priced sensibly in your area.

CV27Q or the MSI optix mag271cqr 27" 2k 144hz f/sync? Which one to go for?
@keithspiteri58625 жыл бұрын
I was undecided about this choice too. I believe better g sync compatibility, the 1500r curve, 160hz refresh rate, better stand, easy firmware updates (MSI one you have to take it physically to a service centre!), HDR400... makes the CV27Q a better choice. The MAG seems to have a bit faster average response time but thats about it. That said, MSI just announced a new monitor... MAG272CQR which shares a lot of features with the Aorus and I think it might have the same panel. But I think its still a few weeks away!

I still can't find any FI27Q for sale (not talk about the fi27q-p...). Nor I can find any news on the release date. Some stores have those available, but they are not actually: when I make the order I get messages that they are not available, just on order, and after that the wait is 1-6 months or more, no guarantee -_- Long story short: I need a monitor, and I don't know what to choose. The FI27Q-P looks like something that should last a long time, but.. Where is it?!! Don't they want to sell it?!

I’ve upgraded from MSI GTX 670 to Gigabyte GTX 970, as both cards are factory overclocked versions. The down part is that the GTX 970 gives more browny tint in skin tone on white people skin in photos, with the same colour settings in the nvidia program and on my US $250 IPS AOC screen, right away I noticed the darker and non vibrant skin tone that can’t be adjusted right. No matter how i tried to tune the colours, just couldn’t get it back to the old GTX 670’s. It’s like going from normal PAL colour system to NTSC Germany colour system on VHS cassette, the colour is stuck and more unmatched to ipad’s Colour, it looked more flat like print out, more grainy, sharper picture, less vidid ... oh, it’s just a game now, not for photos and movies. It’s like replacing your TV, you want Panasonic’s colour system, and they gives you Sony’s, the skin tone are different and can’t be fixed. Same nvidia program, same settings in the nvidia and aoc screen as before, different graphic cards, different nvidia driver version, gives different skin tones and colour system.

@Techtesters Hi Nata, Please compare the CV27Q with the MSI MAG272CQR. You have both the monitors so it should be easier for you. I really need to decide between these two. Personally I'll go VA all day. The extra contrast is a game changer for me. But i can't use a curved monitor, since curved monitors make straight lines look curved if they're not perfectly aligned, which hurts in CAD. Since my day job is entirely reliant on CAD software.
@TechTesters4 жыл бұрын
Heh, it's very subjective in the end. Nothing wrong with having your own preference! As for curve, you could try something with a light curve though, I've got a 2300R ultrawide here as well and I don't find straight lines an issue on that (I don't like it on 1500R though).

VA = faster, IPS = slower, looks nicer. VA is a good compromise of TN (fast) vs IPS (Slow), with VA in the middle (in terms of looks and speed).
@Dr.WhetFarts5 жыл бұрын
you are clueless. va is much slower than ips, va has tons of smearing and blur. slow dark to light and light to dark transistions, this is common knowledge, google it. va is curved because viewing angles are terrible.

Hi Techtesters, does the 1500R curve feel awkward when browsing or seeing youtube or doing any productive work?
@TechTesters5 жыл бұрын
Hey :) curved in general takes a bit of getting used to in my experience. Once you work with it a bit it starts to feel natural, at least it did for me. It can still feel a bit odd to swap between them, but I don't really notice a difference between 1500r and 1800r tbh.

Curved vs flat only matters when you are not directly infront of the screen. With a curved screen you have a better viewing at different angles. With a flat screen you pretty much have to be looking at it centered. 99% of the time you will be, because it's a computer monitor. Then it comes down to the panel. I personally prefer VA panels, because they tend to be darker. IPS panels are much better for the normal person and the colors are much more vibrant, and the images are much better. IPS panels are better, but as long as you are not getting a TN panel, neither is really a bad choice.
