I believe the curved is just a C. Just like the 165Hz is R. Unless they're changing things around for different models. I'm getting a MAG270CR for $250. It's a 27" curved VA and has 165Hz.

Great reviews , you should also use a default picture for all of your panel reviews on dark environment , so we know how they look like on dark . Light conditions are not the same for all , but dark environment is the same for all people , and expose the faults better on panels.

I have never cared for curved monitors. But I needed something for my eyes since they are so sensitive. After using my Samsung 27 inch curve 144 FPS I have a new found appreciation for curved and won’t go back to flat so if I was going to choose between these I would choose the cv27q. But my next monitor hopefully will be an ultra wide with at least 144 FPS LOL.

I wear glases, and spend a lot of time in front of monitor. I bought 32 AOC 144hz curved display, to see if my eyes would be less strained. And it works. It needs longer period of time to start feeling eye fatigue with curved display. Its 1500r curvature. But one thing annoys me, and that's daylight reflection on curved, much bigger and stretched across display, so you have to position monitor left or right to loose that reflection. There is no perfect display 😔

People wondering about IPS vs. VA should take this into consideration. When it comes to CHEAPER monitors, so not like 550 range, but more like 200-250 range for a 27 inch, then VA panels tend to be superior to IPS. Most cheaper and budget VA monitors just kick IPS ass.

GV DRAGONFISTS blurring is the lowest I’ve seen for a VA panel, really good, not as good as the Acer IPS I referenced, it’s the sharpest and clearers monitor I’ve used, though this for a VA looks great, I have flash-lighting on the four corners, essentially backlight bleed, defeats the purpose of having a VA panel, might as well be IPS glow. This is a very versatile and capable VA panel, if you get a good one.

I got a new computer, with 3700x and 5700xt! Now I am looking to upgrade my old Dell IPS monitor. I think I'm in the area of 500€. First I was considering the LG 27GL850-B, but then the contrast ratio is very low, then I thought that the Samsung C27HG70 could be a good option, but then I found out about the Gigabyte AD27QD, only to read in some Reddit post, that there is new version so here I am considering the FI27Q and CV27Q. Both cost about 530 Euro if I buy from the NL. The question now is go VA curved or IPS non-curved? Besides gaming (mostly CS:GO), I edit videos and photos as an amateur, but I see that both IPS and VA have quite a good color gamut and accuracy. Edit: Should I wait for Black Friday? Do you think these monitors gonna get a discount?

The official list of NVIDIA shows that the FI27Q is G-SYNC compatible, but then they say that HDR is not present. According to specs, there is HDR. Maybe the HDR in the FI27Q-P is better. What do you think? I cannot actually understand what is the difference between the non-P and P variant. When I compare them they look the same.

Just got the fi27q for $439.99 brand new on amazon a few weeks ago. My wife and I both grab one while they were on sale. Couldn’t be happier with them at all! The p model does have 165hz 10 bit because of the d.p 1.4 and the non p model has 165hz at 8 bits because of d.p 1.2 but to be honest when I do put the fi27q in 10bit at 120hz it looks exactly the same. Can’t even tell a difference at all in colors. So not going with the p model has turned out great for us and was 100 dollars cheeper and for the price we picked these up at we feel they are a absolute steel!

What annoys me the most, the FI27Q-P is not the exact same like the FI27Q. The FI27Q-P got new Software Features (ANC 2.0, Black Stabilizer 2.0) and DP 1.4. But i dont understand why they advertise IPS 10 bit but they both just have the 8bit+FRC (Source Gigabytes Webpage). So you get with the more expensive FI27Q-P the same but with better Software? What have you done Gigabyte? Btw.: The -P Version is not on sale in europe for now. I hope they add the BS and ANC 2.0 on later updates to the non -P Version. Else it would be really a shame and bad for gigabytes reputation.

It's a confusing result of them 1) wanting to push new stuff 2) not wanting to lose good feedback on previous models. So now you get to choose 3 SKUs that are basically very similar, at least in practice. Honestly, they're good monitors, but pick whichever of the 3 is priced sensibly in your area.

I was undecided about this choice too. I believe better g sync compatibility, the 1500r curve, 160hz refresh rate, better stand, easy firmware updates (MSI one you have to take it physically to a service centre!), HDR400... makes the CV27Q a better choice. The MAG seems to have a bit faster average response time but thats about it. That said, MSI just announced a new monitor... I’ve upgraded from MSI GTX 670 to Gigabyte GTX 970, as both cards are factory overclocked versions. The down part is that the GTX 970 gives more browny tint in skin tone on white people skin in photos, with the same colour settings in the nvidia program and on my US $250 IPS AOC screen, right away I noticed the darker and non vibrant skin tone that can’t be adjusted right. No matter how i tried to tune the colours, just couldn’t get it back to the old GTX 670’s. It’s like going from normal PAL colour system to NTSC Germany colour system on VHS cassette, the colour is stuck and more unmatched to ipad’s Colour, it looked more flat like print out, more grainy, sharper picture, less vidid ... oh, it’s just a game now, not for photos and movies. It’s like replacing your TV, you want Panasonic’s colour system, and they gives you Sony’s, the skin tone are different and can’t be fixed. Same nvidia program, same settings in the nvidia and aoc screen as before, different graphic cards, different nvidia driver version, gives different skin tones and colour system.

Curved vs flat only matters when you are not directly infront of the screen. With a curved screen you have a better viewing at different angles. With a flat screen you pretty much have to be looking at it centered. 99% of the time you will be, because it's a computer monitor. Then it comes down to the panel. I personally prefer VA panels, because they tend to be darker. IPS panels are much better for the normal person and the colors are much more vibrant, and the images are much better. IPS panels are better, but as long as you are not getting a TN panel, neither is really a bad choice.
