The last "bad" example seems to be a matching set. The same print with reversed colours. This was supposed to be a fail safe option, created by professional designers so we don't have to think too much about styling. But it's not fail safe! So nice to see how the change of the top part made the outfit better.❤
@giedre3 ай бұрын
@@cb9825 haha, lol, you are totally right! I have picked this having the same idea even though I thoutght it is somewhat a bit long.. maybe it could work for someone who has very bohemian style, etc.but yes, it made the proportions really off wven though Egle is not a petit. So it just reminds us that it is important ro try the things out ourselves and as I show in my videos sometimes a ‘wrong’ outfit might be elevated with simple tweaks 🙌💃🤍
@Dwynfal3 ай бұрын
I've often felt that matched sets really don't work well in casual clothes. Just the fact that they're a set gives them some formality and that just clashes with the loose, casual nature of this look. A matched skirt and blazer in a business suit, sure, but flowy and loose pants and top, not so much. In this case perhaps it would look OK if the top was tucked in but I definitely prefer the black vest instead!

I approve that you added some brighter colours to the selection. Yes, Capri pants are ridiculous. Tho some culottes can be flattering. I do not wear shortened jeans or heels. Because I have to bandage one of legs because of a debilitating medical condition. Sometimes I wear my favourite Mary Jane shoes, then I do not care if the bandage shows. While I cannot wear jackets, I use long scarves. Draped around the neck to create two vertical lines on the front, or on top of the shoulder creating one line on the front and one line on the back. I did dare to add a dreaded belt on the scarves and it worked. I also tied the scarf above my waist like a men's tie and let it hang out , like a fake roushing. I saw that on a wardrobe from a movie set in 1918 and liked it.

As an apple shaped lady, I tend to agree that tucking doesn't always look better. The half tuck is a fashion trend that can be a bit overdone. I find it looks better with some fabrics than others

If you are pear shaped, your shoulders would be noticeably narrower than your hips/your hips are wider than your shoulders. 🍐 "Apples" have shoulders and hips about the same width, with a fuller midsection. 🍏 The names pretty much describe the silhouette. 😊 HTH!

I’m a aus size 12/14 but only because I had so many bikini line surgeries when I was much younger and back then doctors didn’t know how to rejoin stomach muscles. Despite any exercise, diet or whatever, I still have an apron which upsets me immensely and therefore I will never wear any clothes that I need to tuck in or in anyway show my lower stomach. Shapewear doesn’t do anything for lower tummy issues. I don’t wear swimsuits and will never wear jeans with a crop top. Our body shape impacts on us in different ways. Despite having a good figure, my stomach will always have me thinking I cannot wear certain clothes and also viewing myself as fat. 😕

Omg where has this channel been. I'm a very large apple shaped person and I am doing so many wrong things. My shirts are too long, I'm color blocking, and I don't layer. I'm not too fussy about the way I dress because I'm a special education teacher and looking nice really isn't feasible on a day to day basis but it would be nice to FEEL better about the outfits I wear. I hate tucking (challenging when I move a lot and the shirt won't stay tucked) but I can see so cutting my shirts down seems like a good compromise. Now I need to work on some layers.

I'm sad that Capri pants are 'mistakes', but if I'm out and walking long distances I don't like wearing skirts. My thighs chafe and I feel my range of movement is impaired. I would have liked to see an alternative style of pants used in this example, one that is practical but stylish for a person who climbs on and off buses and walks kilometres rather than driving around town.

What to do when you have thick ankles :(
@thekingsdaughter42333 ай бұрын
🖐️😞 I have sturdy ankles to begin with, and now one is even bigger (never fully recovered from a twisted ankle...). No ankle straps! Shoes with low vamp, preferably pointed toe. I prefer pants and skirts that are either about knee length (to show more of the leg and elongate), or maxi and cover it all. No cropped pants!! 😩 The season for boots is coming up. 😁👍Slim fitting boots with pointed toe box are miracle workers. 😘 Actually, I find that wide cropped pants are doable with smart boots underneath... 😁😄

I don't like the skin-on-skin sensation, either. I have several options: white, lightweight cotton shorts - I pretend they are a split petticoat. 😄 Pantaloons. Something that looks like biker shorts (found that in the underwear section at Walmart; it has a bit of tummy control built in, too). All cool enough for me. But I live in a Northern place.🤷
