Well done as usual. My friends and I got our games in December and have played both sides. We agree with your observation on the writing in the rules-a bit repetitive. The game is more challenging and competitive than it appears. Due to how units are activated, terrain and the how VPs are earned, the Native American player has a very good chance of winning most games. An interesting battle and enjoyed your review.

Naw, but you can use Marco's hair as a kind of calendar. When he cuts his hair, its a sign spring is here. More reliable than ground hogs.

Lots of Monday morning QB'ing of Custer's actions. Both for and against ...... He split his forces in three pieces, not knowing how big a force he faced. Yet that was "standard" tactics when approaching an Indian village. Communication between the three pieces was confusing and confused. Also, much time elapsed and the situation changed between when the message was sent and when it was received. Custer pushed his men hard once they heard there was a village ahead from scouts - some say the horses and the men were pushed too hard. Some focus upon a possible personality conflict & rivalry between Custer and Benteen.... some question whether Reno was drunk and/or aggressive enough in the valley fight..... some question whether Reno maintained command and control over his troopers in the valley fight..... But it is so easy to second guess later - with more info than Custer had available afterwards..... Here are video discussions of the battle - for those so inclined and interested: kzbin.info/aero/PLRECSN_PpLgVM1IRO5WEfb_qpcV6grYK7 kzbin.info/aero/PL7950A1D9CA754945
