The order rules look really good - I like how the player's usual "hand of God" is removed. And disruption through woods - just like I was reading with the Confederate advance at Chancellorsville (God & Generals). I think I'll pull the trigger on this one. Beautiful with good gameplay by the look of it. And great to see the designer do an intro vid like this. Thank you Mr Luttman!

Thank you Mr Luttman for doing the vid and for making it a *_percentage_* based system. Just ordered from Blue Panther, and a 100-sided *_metal_* die from elsewhere. :)

Thanks Herm. Great overview of the game, very straight forward rules if you are experience with tactical games. Looking forward to get it on the table.

Thanks Alan! I did try to make this system a lot easier to play than most at this scale.

@@hermannluttmann1637 I felt something wasn't right about the artillery and I was still trying to give them orders! Your video reminded me that they are independent and have all actions available up to their rating! I knew I had read it in the rules it just didn't stick.

Herman, This is a beautiful game. I really appreciate how elegant the rules are, especially the orders (and their action limitations) and need to keep regiments in contact with one another. The LOS rules are deceptively simple. I fell that at times I am over thinking them. What would be cool in a graphic that showed the LOS from the artillery in the northern section of Rose's wheat field to woods area south of wheat field., showing what is clear, what is obstructed and what is blocked. Great job!

Thanks so much! And great suggestion ... maybe we can work something up and get it up on BGG.

I felt the same about the LOS rules and took me a bit to get my head around. Remember also that units in the woods and obscured can also be cumulative! In the first fight both Smith and Winslow's batteries CAN see units in Rose's woods because they are higher and they can hit at range, just do remember that if they are deeper in the woods you will have obscured penalties and unit in the woods penalties combined.

Looks like a very interesting game, I especially like the "compass like" points for movement and facing, it is an elegant design. It seems to be a system that begs for expansions, that focus on the smaller parts of larger battles.

Thanks! And yes - that is the plan!

Ordered! I love the map movement concept. As I've watched war game maps develop over the years, at some point in time, a long long time ago, hex center dots began to be used for line of sight. As time went on, to reduce the hex grid footprint on maps, game maps would just print the hex vertices on the map. I often wondered why not just use those hex center dots to regulate movement, and get rid of the hex grid all together? That's basically what Mr. Luttmann has done here, with a square grid combined with a point to point system. I think it's absolutely brilliant. In my opinion, hex grid maps should make the same change. It would make maps much more realistic in my opinion. Looking forward to receiving this one, I'm a huge fan of Hermann Luttmann's ACW designs. 🍻

Well done, Herman. I think I have been sold. Will you be doing other scenarios? When doing scenarios of the same battle, can they be combined into a larger game?

We expect to be doing additional titles in the series. Right now we are looking at the cornfield from Antietam and others have been suggested to us as well

Thanks for an excellent overview 😀 Will this game be available on Wargamevault as well? Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of Blue Panther counters and much prefer my homebrew ones...

I've had it for a week and have had it on the table 3 times now. This game is in danger of very quickly becoming one of my favorite tactical CW games!
