Nice repaint. Minor note on the figure though, you can’t drive the real Midlander like that. The cab is entirely too small to stand in and the controls were designed to be operated from a seated position. Basically the driver backs into the cab seat and turns their head in the direction of travel. Some of those Ruston’s had canvas curtains instead of doors, in case you want to try something a little different to mask the blanked out cab

Not too much of a challenge from what I’ve seen, but I challenge you to try and convert a Hornby Bassett-Lowke Rogue diesel locomotive into the Thomas kind of style. It seems like it would probably fit into the industrial design of your current layout.

It's not just common - all machines are referred to as "she", as are all vehicles. It's only in the land of fiction with sentient machines like the RWS that you find male vehicles and machines. I'm not sure where the trend comes from but it can be weird - for example, Flying Scotsman is referred to as female, and so would the GWR King George V.

Yeah, unfortunately I kept accidentally saying “He” rather than She when referring to her and didn’t really realize until I rewatched. :/ In MY little representation Midlander is meant to be female but she can be whatever to anyone else! I just thought it’d be fun to have a female NG engine that isn’t Millie. 🤣
