Awesome job making the compact FPV pan & tilt system. The Analog FPV visuals are surprising clear. The affordability definitely will allow more people to experience RC flight in this exciting way! Keep up the great work guys! Subbed!

Haha thank you so much! Your work is truly an inspiration, and I sure hope we can work together or fly at some point in the future. And yeah the goal was a it only to make a cool plane, but also something a bit cheaper in case someone just wanted to try head tracking
@salisburyrc2 ай бұрын
Great job! I like how you put it all together at such a relatively low cost. Going all digital with a flight controller isn’t cheap, but does take the experience to another level. Your choice of the Corsair is perfect. Subscribed

Hey I just did this too! Mine was on a EDF though. I also couldn't wait for a calm day to maiden it lol... You should cut out the clear parts of the canopy. It'll cut out the distortions and reflections but it will still look like you're inside the cockpit. It's already a pretty challenging POV to fly having the camera so low on a tail dragger. I did that once too. It'll just reduce your stress while flying and allow you to enjoy it more.
@InvertedAviatorsRC2 ай бұрын
Yeah I thought about removing the clear parts of the canopy, but I had two main counter thoughts: 1. I think the micro head tracking system might be a little bothered by the wind, since the parts are so small. It would for sure help with cooling the camera off, but it might make the whole mount really wobbly. 2. I really like the feeling of being in the cockpit, even if there is a little distortion around the edges. When flying at dusk, the view is a lot clearer and it doesn't bother me too much. There are for sure a few more tweaks that we're going to do to this plane, so I really appreciate the tips!

I'm sure glad you kind of verbalized and captured the feelings of taking an intricate FPV project up for the first time, and especially landing it the first time!!! I thought it was just me! I'm really impressed and somewhat mystified as to why you chose the Corsair for this! Awesome looking plane...but definitely the hardest to take off and land with out of the Eflite 1.2m warbirds.... F4U is short for "Flips For You"! I like looking at mine so much that I quit flying it, so I wouldn't have to glue the damn tail together yet again.
@InvertedAviatorsRC2 ай бұрын
Yeah it feels like a lot of people say that they don’t have nerves when flying a new plane, but I for sure do! And the F4U nickname is hilariously accurate. My favorite full scale warbird is the Corsair, so I’ve dreamed of a flying RC version since I started flying!

I like the dual receiver set up, I want to make a fpv super scale 80mm A-10 with opening canopy and ordnance drop so it’s good to know it possible. Keep up the good work 👌
@InvertedAviatorsRCАй бұрын
Oh the opening canopy would be awesome! We've thought about doing something like that with the Corsair canopy, but we haven't figured anything out yet. And yeah the dual receiver works really well for an "essentials" receiver and a "fun stuff" receiver, just to keep things separate and tidy
@RenegadeRCFPVАй бұрын
@@InvertedAviatorsRC that what I definitely like about it, keeps things nice and tidy especially when we are throwing so much into these aircraft 😂 I’m gonna do some more research on how to set up the dual receiver with the radiomaster tx16s
@InvertedAviatorsRCАй бұрын
Yeah EdgeTX makes things like this pretty straight forward, and as long as you set up the input channels for the internal module to be different than the input channels on the external module, you should be able to get tons of channels!

Have you considered using Digital FPV etc: Walksnail Avatar pro kit or Walksnail avatar lite 1s for smaller planes?
@InvertedAviatorsRCАй бұрын
Yeah I for sure thought about it, and going to digital would make the picture quality a lot better. My main goal of this project was to make it as cheap and as easy to reproduce for someone who wanted to try out head tracking without the high price tag
@StickJockeyFPVАй бұрын
@@InvertedAviatorsRC I made a video on my channel with a 750mm Corsair with panning camera using Walksnail. The original Fatshark goggles go for about the same price as the goggles you're using and the VTX and camera was about $100. I really think you should check it out because it boggles my mind how people can put the time and effort into making these cool things and still be using analog. I couldn't ever enjoy analog after experiencing what I have.
@InvertedAviatorsRC16 күн бұрын
@StickJockeyFPV I checked out your videos and it does look super cool! Again my goal of this project was to make it as cheap as possible, while maintaining some good-enough quality. I did look into the Walksnail ecosystem, and the only drawback is the price based on what I already have. In order to sue the Walksnail VTX, I would have to buy a new set of goggles, putting me down another $300 + $100 for the VTX. I do totally agree that digital is super nice, and I might upgrade the whole system at some point, but at least for now I love how low profile, light, and reliable my system is!
