Seeing those T'au drones incorporated onto the back makes me imagine a group of Darkmech Skitarii jumped some Fire Warriors, grabbed the drones, and the Tech-Priest screamed "SCARPER!" as they all ran off with the drones like Jawas abducting a lonely droid on Tatooine

Welcome back jen and Dave, now your back I can thank the rest of ttt . Without you guys I would never discovered the fun of miniatures . Dave introduced me to nurgle and kitbashing. Even the random nurgel bathday helped me learn just how far you could go lol. Thank to you both . It's now something I really enjoy

i like the tau addition. I can see a book moment when the tau realize that the machine has the codes of a drone that used to belong to an Ethereal and is immune to being targeted by Tau weaponry. Then they realize they can hack the machine through the drone causing the demon part of the machine to exert real effort into animated its now defiant cage

For cleaning up the seams (2:45) I would strongly recommend different grit nail files. The shape makes it easy to hold and use rather than just sandpaper around your finger. If you do use sandpaper, fold it over threefold so that it is more of a tool and makes it easier to sand things flush :) Sandpaper around your finger will (in the worst case) just accentuate bumps as your finger is... well... squishy. Ooh! AND for drilling up to a bigger hole I cannot overstate how amazing step drills are for this. They won't grab the material like a twist drill bit and will get you a really nicely finished hole in the end. Even the cheaper ones are pretty good and won't go wrong. A total time and lifesaver if you ask me :D
@solidzaku210 ай бұрын
Sorry this is so late, but here's my tip to get those seams sealed properly. When you apply the plastic glue, go over both sides like he did, but wait between 5 and 10 seconds. That gives the plastic time to actually melt. Then compress the pieces as firmly as you can without damaging them. You'll see an ugly bead of melted plastic form at the seam if you did it right. Once it hardens, THEN go after it with your hobby knife. And if you want the results to be invisible, wet sand from 600 then 800 grit. The finish left by a dragged blade is somewhere between 400 and 500 grit, so 600 is the perfect starting point.

This looks really awesome! a few tips from the gunpla world, if you mix some chopped up sprue plastic with tamiya extra thin cement in a glass bottle, let it sit for a few hours and you should have a sludge/slurry to use for filling in seam lines. since it's the same plastic as the model, it will blend in seamlessly once you have sanded it smooth. Probably not super important since you will paint it but it's a handy alternative to putty. I have heard of people using acetone instead of tamiya extra thin cement. And the spring you used for a hose, if you run a length of solder inside the spring, it should hold it's shape a lot better and make your glueing/assembly easier.

this is awesome. I can't wait to see it painted. If you are going to paint the tau drone in tau colours, you should paint the guardian drone straight out of Blackstone Fortress. If the Blackstone Fortress is large enough to have an entire spacecraft inside, I'm sure it's not outside the realm of possibility that a mad Magos could cobble together an abominable knight. Just imagine, exploring the fortress and suddenly encountering a knight stomping through the cavernous halls.

This looks so siiiiick. For seam filling, I recommend some thin sprue goo! I'm sure you know of it, just melt some sprue in a bottle of plastic cement. Super useful stuff. Use it in place of your regular plastic glue for these sorts of things and sand it down thereafter.

Impressive looking results, all of the cabling and conversion work gives the Knight a much more integral look with a stronger feeling of robustness and stability. When it comes to greenstuff it's 100% just luck of the draw, i have a bunch of it (that is 12+ years old) stuffed into a bag, some of the strips even stuck together, still works fine with no lumps (well i cut out the dried out stuff from the middle but everybody does that). That said i've NEVER experienced these lumps i see in videos, if it can mix it does mix, maybe old greenstuf is just better.

I customised an armiger to be running. I personally think it looks looks really good if you cut the toes off and glue them on pointing downwards from the centre of the foot like how a bird orientates its toes whilst stepping. This would I guess in both birds and battle mechs lower the chances that a toe will snag on something as you move.
