Beautiful! You don’t need the neck peg, I always cut them off, the disc part is what keeps the head on, the hook part just makes it harder to take the head off

Ditto. I was going to comment the same thing. I always cut those hooks off. Not only is it easier to remove the head I n the future, it keeps excess stress off the shank of the neck peg during head removals. If THAT stretches/cracks/breaks, you’re in big trouble.

Hey pro tip after you paint the scalp with the new color, put a layer of mod podge over it so it doesn’t chip ❤️

1:28, add mod podge or fabric glue to your paints when repainting the scalps. Makes the paint flexible & less lightly to chip off when rerooting doll hair. 👍🏻

So cute in both versions! I reccomend warming the doll for two minutes in hot water, before removing the head. Then it's very soft. If you do it careful you will probably see if it's a problem. Best of luck!

The important part of the neck peg is the disk part so as long as that is still there the head will stay on, the hooks are just to prevent the head from getting yanked off during play :)

She turned out super cute, i love your doll customs! Not gonna lie, I got a bit nervous when you re-dunked her to glue the lashes, since hot water can remove unsealed acrylic paint, plus you can run the risk of cracking the paint with any head squishing. I've unfortunately learned that the hard way. One of my dolls has had her face redone several times for that reason. I've recently started putting the doll in a plastic bag and then dunking them, or putting a heating pad on them for head swapping 😊

She is sooooo cute. Good job. As info, the rerooting style is called tension method. I've been customizing 20+ yrs. We never used glue. The "tension" of the vinyl keeps the hair in. Example is your having to re-pierce her ears. 😉 Unless it's going to a child it will hold. I comb and brush miniMe without incident and she has partially curly kanekalon hair. I just hold it at the root when doing so, sometimes. 😅 This OG doesn't always remove the head. I cut the hair short, shave with mustache trimmer and push the hair inside the head while rerooting. Only for dolls I'm keeping, not for sell or giveaway. 😅😅😅 Love your makeovers and your channel. Merry Christmas 💙🙏🏾💜

there are special acryllics made for painting onto leather (I have decorated shoes with it) I recommend trying that out, it has much more flex ability
