Sir How much did it cost ?
@BogdanBerg Жыл бұрын
As of the time when I built it, the total cost was under $2,000 for all materials. That was mid-2019, and lumber prices have gone up since, but doing it yourself still yields tremendous savings compared to quotes I've received for comparison at that time. Please find details in the blog article I wrote :) www.bogdanberg.com/2019/06/21/custom-built-aviary/#cost-estimates

I want to keep Finch sparrows along with the chicken in my aviary. Is this possible, specially when the finch chicks come out of the boxes.
@BogdanBerg3 жыл бұрын
I don't have experience on interactions between finch sparrows and chickens, I'm sorry... :) However, one consideration when building such aviary/enclosure: be sure to get the mesh with hole size small enough to prevent them from squeezing through! Something like chicken wire is much too large and not suitable for parrots, as they can easily wiggle their way through it.

Wow it's beautiful..n birds love it .so how they stay warm /winter months?unless u live in fla ?

This aviary is attached directly to our living room, and all our birdies have cages inside. When the weather is nice, we slide the door to aviary open and everyone enjoys ;)

What material did you use for the metal
@BogdanBerg4 жыл бұрын
I used Sampson strong ties, mostly model A21. You can find the list of materials in the article linked in the description of the video :) www.bogdanberg.com/2019/06/21/custom-built-aviary/

The birds are seeing trees but cannot perch on it....
@ma7972 жыл бұрын
It’s so much nicer than a cage but they still want to be out free flying in the trees. So many birds look outside like they are so envious even though many people give them good homes. I wonder if he added any perches so they could fly and land in there. Hope one day they’ll stop selling and imprisoning birds eventually.

Oh my god there's always gotta be one sanctimonious halfwit on here yammering about the evils of domestic birds for some reason.

@@ma797 You're telling ME that I don't have empathy or common sense when you're the one making shit up about DOMESTIC birds.
@ma7972 жыл бұрын
@@BJGvideos Yes I am!! I Birds are FLOCK ANIMALS and meant to FLY FREELY with other birds, NOT be locked up in cages! No animal wants to be put in prison just like humans. Being "domesticated" means nothing! Did you ever hear of pet birds FLYING AWAY and being found miles away??? Gee, I wonder why if they love their cages so much! Horses are domesticated and still want to RUN freely not be locked in a stall! Maybe some day you'll figure it out.
@BJGvideos2 жыл бұрын
@@ma797 I hear of pet birds flying away and dying because they're not equipped to be wild. That's what you're advocating.
