In a few ways this deck reminds me of marincess. It has a lot of 1 card combos, can hold a lot of hand traps, relies heavily on its own engine, has a lot of protection but not a lot of interruptions. I could see it being at the same level of tier 3 or rogue depending on the meta.

For Dark Ruler Protection, Couplet can search out the Trap Illusion which makes a Melodious unaffected by Spell/Trap effects. So, you can target Etoile and they can still disrupt your opponent along with re-establishing the lock for the following turn.

If you have a special summoned Aria on field, Illusion can't be activated cause Aria prevents target from any source, including your own cards. I don't think the deck has any form of protection for drnm or droplet without a hard drawn counter trap or something.

I should’ve clarified that Illusion only works if you’re not going for Aria, but Illusion can do something similar. A lot of the targeting you are worried about involves effect negation and destruction. So you can easily make a board involving Bacha, Etoile, Elegy and Illusion which effectively means your opponent has to deal with Etoile bouncing at least 3 cards because Bacha makes Etoile’s effect unnegatable.

Really like the option of running condensed witch to ss another melodious from deck on opponent's turn or even statue of the heavens to lock them into lights ss. You just need to save your normal summon to do it to not conflict with the link 2 which is totally possible with the fusion spell or other play starter.

This deck has always been one of my favorites. I've been playing it off and on since it first came out. It's always been one of those decks that no matter how many times i'd set it down to play something else, I knew I could always be able to pick it right back up. So glad it's getting new support, and actually good support at that. Then again my motto when it comes to yugioh is that, I may not win but if I can annoy you with my deck that's a win for me.

now that i see it how did melodious not have pend cards up until now. the entire point of arc v was that these are the decks that have pendulums available. that was why every deck from that time got random pendulum monsters

Galaxy Photo Dragon is a great inclusion, you can search the trap that let's it rank up to Photo Lord then you have a negate. Can either use the Photon Ship as a normal summon to make it or just as a 1 card garnet that can be made with 2 level 4 melodius. Other options include adding a small trickster engine to have a normal that makes the herald link to get a spell trap negate.

This deck has no need to be this good now 😍 I'm so happy!! I just finished my testing of them and any deck that can win on the same turn that they had their board wiped by Zeus is a-ok in my books

Herald of Mirage Lights could be a tech card as it can provide a spell and trap negate

The locks on 1st Movement Solo and the Link-2 can be really annoying if you want to shove in other engines. Though the most notable Fusions you'd probably want to consider running are Shaddoll Construct(Shaddoll Engine enabler with that Castastor effect) and The First Darklord(ANY Fairy Deck can make it for blanket Targeting protection that's less intrusive than Aria's, but it's Dark and requires 3 mats). Those may or may not be worth it depending on what you're trying to accomplish with the deck.

I’m really interested in what a version without the link monster looks like ostinato can be the new branded fusion/brilliant fusion. The engine is very similar to the super heavy samurai pendulum engine. There’s so many synergies with other decks and it doesn’t lock you into anything.

Seems like a very solid engine for pendulums. Ostinato alone is a 1-card scale and Beyond the Pendulum.

Actually there was quite a decline in main deck talents at YCS bologna because of Rescue-Ace. I could see this doing decently if Fire king and Rescue Ace are still meta.Z One things for sure though, TCGPyke will be sweating bullets if sees this.

Kinda, but Eloite's effect dodges nibiru. If your opponent trys to nib you, chain Elo, get rid of ALL your melodious monsters, nib fizzles out without any monsters to eat, Elo returns all melodious monsters back to your board at end phase except the EMZ but hey 5/6 is still good instead getting rocked.
