Man this is fantastic. Makes me wonder how many other useful tools can be made with OSL to fill gaps that are still missing with RS nodes. This reminds me a little of being able to use wrangles / VEX in Houdini. This is very useful and has completely perked my interest in OSL for C4D. Great tut - keep em coming!

OSL is nuts! I get mixed results in C4D with many of the premade stuff but simple stuff like this is great.

That was easy, thanks a lot. OLS seems to be pretty straight forward and handy. In 2025, I have to manually update RS though, to see the change.

Yah it's weird with viewport updates. Sometimes it works other times you have to hit refresh. Check out my latest random number generator in OSL too. I've got more OSL project ideas... stay tuned.

Make sure you add the Time Node to your presets so it can be used whenever you need evolving shader properties! Thanks for watching :-)

Remember any property with an input can evolve over time! My example is just one of literally millions of uses!
