This quick tip introduces the Parallax Occlusion Mapping technique. It's a great effect to enhance the appearance of depth to a texture, similar to a normal map, but without the use of heavy displacement. Using this in Redshift is very simple thanks to OSL.
There are a few settings to tweak to get the best results, which I also cover in this quick tip.
This information should apply to Redshift in other DCCs, as well as other render engines that support OSL although specifics about OSL support will vary from engine to engine.
