Im not familiar with boards and programming in general, how do you "program" this to work with clone hero? I just built mine but Sanjay's Guitar Configurator does not detect it, I had to use JoyToKey to get it to copy keyboard inputs to play, or is that the only way?

For the buttons and all of your parts did you sand them by hand and spray paint? finally got all my pieces printed

I actually didn’t sand anything. For the buttons and the button cover I just printed them at high detail. Then if the buttons were rubbing a bit too much I would change the button size my a percentage point smaller. If you plan on spray painting I would for sure size them down as the paint is going to add layer to everything and could depending on the paint as stickiness so I would experiment a bit.

Hi, I have everything to do this guitar, but I can' t buy the solder iron, can I do this without soldering?

Not really. You have to solder the wire to the switches. Any hobby or hardware store cheap soldering iron will work most times they are like 10-15 bucks. But I highly recommend splurging on this one amzn.to/3Z4kUPZ with this power cable amzn.to/404Xxr1 and this power brick amzn.to/3Z2cybQ Then for wire to wire connections the heat shrinks with solder in them are the best solutions but normal soldering and electrical tape wrap works fine too.

Is there a way to connect the wires to the buttons without soldering? Ive never done it nefore and not sure if i want this to be the first time.

Not that I can think of. I wouldn’t worry about soldering it’s actually really easy and not anything to fear. I would suggest buying helping hands as that will decrease frustration.

any idea if you could use normal cherry mx switches as i cant find low profile in my country

If you modded the neck to be thicker you probably could use regular size switches but by default it is designed for low profile.

can I use any type of switch?

You have to use low profile switches for this print but other models support full size. As for type of switch IE white clicky or red silent you can use any type that fits your wants however I have only been able to find white and red switches constantly. The ones I use are linked in the description.

Look up the Arduino mods for guitar hero guitars that is probably going to be your solution. katana mods is a guy that does it but I have only seen his work on PS2 Kramer guitars but I would imagine it works on any model as you are replacing the main board with Arduino.

You don't have to use that much infill I think 10 -20 percent is enough it's mainly about how heavy you want it to feel in the end. Now the buttons I mess with different infill and infill patterns depending on what I want to feel like and act.
