The Bob Ross of great guitar luthiery(your calm voice). The knot on the neck is sexy. Don’t worry about it. As a customer I would love it. ✌️

Mark, is going to be a beautiful piece. I totally agree with the mathematical relationship. I too think the lines are inkeeping with the whole aesthetic. Like I said, it's a beautiful thing.

Headstock reminds a lot of redlayer
@MarkGutierrez3 жыл бұрын
I follow redlayer on instagram. He's out of Holland, right? I just checked out his gallery. He has an 8 string that has a headstock that is very similar. He has made some unbelievable tops and his fretboards are insane. Thanks for watching!

For me the model for GGB2021 is unsurpassed, the headstock is perfect as is the choice of aluminum. Until today I don't know if you used a truss rod on it. If I understand, you must take into consideration when you do the CADCAM, the speed differences made in the wood, whether they will cause more or less sanding for the finish, am I right? Or do you make adjustments in the process?
@MarkGutierrez3 жыл бұрын
Hi Adrien, the aluminum neck for GGBO2021 did not have a truss rod. The relief for the neck was machined into the fretboard. You are right about the finishing passes in CAM. If I use a smaller step over and go slow, I get a finish that does not require as much sanding. For example, my go to step over is .3mm anything smaller than that and it would take forever for the operation to complete. A step over of .5mm would require more sanding but the operation would complete faster. Then I account for the surface speed. I generally will go about 1200mm per minute. Then adjust in realtime up or down as needed.
