I am leaning towards a CGM Cobra for my first saddle purchase this year. I am torn on the waist belt though. Rope belt with sliding knot. Webbing belt with D ring buckle. Upgrade to a Raptor buckle. Upgrade to a Cobra buckle with D ring like a riggers belt for a secondary safety option… Any guidance or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

I started saddle hunting last year. Jerry’s shop isn’t far from me and he offered to let me try several. I haven’t been able to make it yet but Since then, I have become focused on his gear and am most likely going with the Cobra for my second season.

Nice! He’s a top-notch guy. The Cobra is rock solid! The price makes it better.

Rope around your waist is a terrible idea for a fall arrest device.

Does moving the prussiks on the bridge loops closer to the top make the top stick closer to your back?
@vandywatt96042 жыл бұрын
Good question.

So here is what I found for my body type… when I move the Prusik up.. it does in fact tighten the top back portion to my back but it also induces pressure which in turn pulls the top grey pleat strap tighter which then puts pressure on my hip and becomes uncomfortable for me. I talked with Jerry about changing that top grey strap and we worked on some variations, but I am one guy and most of the bigger guys loved it as is. I personally like the fact that the top portion does not hold tight to my back because that keeps the pressure off my iliac crest.

Hopefully that made sense?

For a sitter, does it compare favorably or not to a 2-panel?
@platinumpursuitoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the late responds. I have found this to have a lot of adjustments in the sitting position.
@Dennis-mf8sw2 жыл бұрын
How would you compare it to a two-panel for sitting?
@platinumpursuitoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Man that’s a hard question. There is a TON of options on the Cobra for sitting, but comfort is so personal on saddles. I can achieve comfort in both though.

Really like that saddle how would you compare it to the cruzr xc
@platinumpursuitoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Very comparable. It has some features the Cruzr XC doesn’t have and the pleat on the Cobra stays where you want it!! It doesn’t open up on you.
