I hunted all last year with this saddle and it's the most comfortable saddle I've had.

@@Rooster_king haven’t met one person yet curse it. Notice on the forums you don’t see CGM Cobra’s for resale

If I havent already, thank you very much for your efforts in making these videos and your website selling equipment you use. After wading through some comments, Im reminded why Ive never posted a how to video on anything! Also, Im happy to purchase from someone who goes out of their way to sell a good product. 👍 Thanks again.😊

Jerry is a longtime friend and brother of mine. He's got a great thing going with CGM. Don't overlook this small Veteran Owned and operated company. I love my Cobra saddle. John, your rope system lives in my SRT dump pouch. A foot loop from CGM and Garda hitch gets me to height, and the Munter gets me down. Both are backed up by the VT Prusik. It works for me. Gonna give that Knut a try.

The Cobra is a fantastic saddle for sure!

I am leaning towards a CGM Cobra for my first saddle purchase this year. I am torn on the waist belt though. Rope belt with sliding knot. Webbing belt with D ring buckle. Upgrade to a Raptor buckle. Upgrade to a Cobra buckle with D ring like a riggers belt for a secondary safety option… Any guidance or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

There both good options I have the web belt , my buddies have the rope belt. Both are easy to use. The nice thing about either You don’t have to undo like a buckle you just loosen and slide it off , Pull it on and pull it tight. Other plus is it’s rotational so you can fasten to the right or left side of waist.

Would you use this saddle for recreation tree climbing too? I'd like to go up 50/60 ft or more and wonder if the hunting saddles would be safe and comforts ke compared to an arborist saddle like treemotion or monkeybeaver
@NYSaddleHunter2 ай бұрын
As nice as any of the hunting saddles are. They do not compare to a arborist or Rec saddles. They are also put in extreme environments and situations. Arborist saddles have to pass a more rigorous inspection than hunting saddles,mainly because they’re designed to last 20 to 30 yrs and come in contact with solvents and sharp objects . If recreational climbing is your thing in the off season I would suggest you buy a quality Rec or Arb saddle mainly to keep your hunting saddle scent free

Your hunting saddle would be just as safe at 20 or 60 ft. Remember though if your pulling double duty in it as a rec saddle as well . Your decreasing it’s life expectancy of what the manufacturer lists .

What bags are those? I’m looking for something to better hold my 40’ of 9mm one sticking rope. Thanks

CGM 10x9x3 . I easily fit 40’ 9.5mm , hand ascender, belay device plus 30” hitch cord I’ll be selling them as well on my site . The newer edition will have mesh pockets for milk weed storage on the outer surface. Should be in stock by mid June

I am new to saddle hunting, borrowed a Tethrd Phantom last year and am looking to buy a saddle. I was considering the TX5 Lonestar 2.0, the Lattitude Method 2, CGM Cobra or the Overwatch Outdoors. Have a preference on top 2-3 saddles you like? Thanks

What size are you and what size saddle did you order
@NYSaddleHunter3 ай бұрын
I run a size 2 , I’m a 36 waist and I still have plenty of room. I run my saddles a bit larger so I can pack on heavy weight winter gear and not feel restricted.

The 9mm CIV has really made me more efficient. I use plenty of 8mm Sterling but it's usually a hitchcord Oplux but as a tether or hitchcord for larger climbing ropes. With the Trango Vergo I tend to put my right hand on the eye to eye prusik hitch while rapelling with the handle with my left hand on the Vergo. But it is a two handed coordination thing. Kinda like driving a car that's not automatic. One foot has to operate the clutch while 1 hand shifts the car. It's probably easier since the redundancy of just letting go & u stop u probably won't find in a car.😮
