Custom Guitar Holder - Wall Mount

This project was a request from a friend who wanted a "fancy" wall-mounted guitar holder. I pulled out all the tools for this build and had a lot of fun flexing my creative muscles. I think it turned out beautifully. A big mistake was made during the build, but I showed my process in overcoming the mistake and making it part of the design. Your collet may be worn out or the base lock-in mechanism may not be engaged to keep the router secure

The lock in mechanism was locked and felt tight, but I think you’re right that it wasn’t holding it secure somehow. the collet was extremely tight - but obviously something wasn’t keeping it still. It’s fit for the fire.

I like that, looks really good. I had an old craftsman router that the bit would drift. I threw it in the trash can lol. Hope you figure out what happened

Thanks Keith! The best I could tell, the threads on the lift were skipping when the router was running and there was pressure on the bit. I couldn’t replicate it with the router off as I was pushing and pulling on it. The bit seemed very tight in the collet, so the router itself must have been creeping upwards. It might be time to invest in a new router table. I don’t have much room in my shop, but I found a folding router table by Rockler that seems pretty interesting. That way I could stow it away when I’m not using it.
