It's obvious how much pride you take in your ride and I love the fact you actually ride it. It"s an awesome machine and would kick ass in any show. The fact that you use it for GO gets my respect. I really enjoyed this particular vid because it gave us time to be able to really examine your ride. Every time I see it, I see something I had missed before. So many one off pieces on that thing. It really is a work of art. Thanks again for taking the time to put your videos out for all of use to enjoy. Ride often and try to ride safe but even if you're not riding safe , always have a kick ass time!

In 1981 I walked into a harley dealership in shawnee, Oklahoma and fell in love with a new wide glide with a flame paint job on it. The price was $6495.unaffordable at the time. I can't get that bike out of my head, it was so beautiful . Your bike reminds me of that bike I could never have. Hoping someday I can get one. I've owned several bikes since but that 81 wide glide got away. Your videos are awesome, keep up the good work.

I enjoyed watching you talk and care for your bike this morning. It helps me ease into the day and for that I am thankful. As much as I’m careful, it never ceases to amaze me the things that can happen to my bike. I’m sure you will need to wash yours again, or at least rinse it off. I’ve found it helpful to use a electric leaf blower to get to places that’s difficult to reach as well as speeding up the process. I look forward to your next video and I wish you safe riding.

Lemon Pledge and a micro-fiber cloth is all I've used for at least 10 years on all my bikes. Windshield, chrome, paint, everything. Those spoke rims are a total pain in the butt to clean. Every once in awhile we used 0000 steel wool on the chrome rims n spokes my girlfriends Honda Shadow 1100. I have polished aluminum rims on my Yamaha Stratoliner so those get Lemon Pledge too, easy peezy! Good to see you producing more content! Thanks for all you do! :-)

They do seem to run better when clean! But a cheap Harbor Freight power washer is worth it. Especially if hooked up to the HOT water. A spray down with good ol' GUNK or Simple Green first. Plastic bags and rubber bands on the intake and pipes. I have gangsta wide whitewalls on my '68 and the first time I washed it without covering the pipes and started it, she blew black yickkk all over the rear whitewall.

Nice job. I like my Pan engine and trans mounted in it's 1981 FX frame with Progressive suspension front and rear and sticky Avon tires, fun to ride on the twisty secondary roads around here. But your bike with all the custom detail is way above anything I have seen elsewhere. If you are really looking for encouragement, I think you are very engaging, fun and you are obviously good looking, so what would we have to complain about? Hope you enjoyed the ride and didn't collect too many bugs! The main drive gear leak is fixable, you have to pull the clutch, sprocket, clean it in the bike and put it back together with silly seal between everything (not in the clutch components) plus use a MDG nut with the built in seal, that has worked for me.
@randymarks4011
@randymarks4011 2 жыл бұрын
yeah there's a built in leak at the mdg, gob some silicone into the splines behind the drive sprocket, install sprocket and some more silicone behind the tabbed nut keeper, torque down and bend an ear or two on the keeper, walla, no more leak.

They should invent this active foam type stuff that you can spray on using the hose or something. Then let it sit for 5 minutes and they hose it down with water: hey presto done clean and shiny bike. They have it for the bathroom, why not for bikes ? I wash mine only once a year, dont enjoy it, too much work. Inbetween it gets cleaned when I take stuff apart, I clean the parts before puttting m back on. How much water do you think it sucks in while riding in the rain ? Point being water gets in there no matter what you do. P.S. was a relaxing video to watch 😁

Unfortunately, everyone gets caught in the rain now and again. I invested in a small hand-held steam cleaner for getting into all the tight spots on my bike. Much safer and more effective than water straight from the hose and once you get a feel for it, it'll save you quite a bit of time. Something to consider for your cosmetic maintenance toolbox. I enjoyed the video.

Spokes & spoke nipples are the worst to keep from rusting unless they are stainless. I like to true my wheels every time I change tires & if the nipples are rusted to the spokes its a real pain to get the nipples to turn. Other than that, my bike gets a bath when I'm caught in the rain.

I've had bikes I never washed, not once lol. A good long ride in the rain would actually help clean them. It's a dilemma in your case as that bike probably needs to be clean, I don't know maybe all that brass and copper would take on a nice patina if just left to the elements.
