I'm just south of you, in 2018 I bought a HSS 1332AT it was a beast until I ran in to slushly snow, I really started to regret my decision. The engine surging was a bear as well. I found your YT vids and really admire your inventiveness and scientific approach. I bought your shoot deflector the other day on eBay, a little pricey but all the other little tricks I've been taught by you including the jet swap is well worth the price. Thanks for the sterling effort John.

Franco, The chute deflector worked flawlessly! Great instructions to go along with all of your informative videos on KZbin. Between you and Daniel Panycia’s impeller seals snd each of your re-jetting videos my HSS 1332 is a BEAST!!! Thank you!

I very glad the install was smooth and you are happy. The chute deflector is the cherry on top of the HSS. Makes snowblowing that much more enjoyable. Thanks again!

Great job John. Didn't realize how close you are to where we go riding at Hopkinton-Everett.

I call it the ejecta problem... I have an early 1980's Ariens ST824. The machine is sporting a Harbor Freight Predator 301cc 8HP engine plus a zero-tolerance impeller wiper modification. In addition, I took the base gear ring and welded it to a tall discharge chute. It's quite the thrower now! But... On full-stop right deployment of the discharge chute, the base of the "L" impeller paddles bat ejecta back at the operator. To fix, I took a section of 6" PVC sewer pipe and formed, in Honda parlance, a tall collar which goes all the way up to the chute pitch deflector. The skirt/collar is just held in-place with 1" Velcro keeper straps. So, if there would ever be a problem (with an impeller wiper modification, unlikely), the PVC collar/skirt can be removed for cleaning.

Exactly why i design this chute cover to keep discharge hitting you when fully turned (back chuting) it also keep the discharge in a tighter more condensed stream and less build up on the machine hood as a result.

Great video's enjoy all the honda snoblower content. Checked out the price of the new deflector. Was shocked at the price $199.99. Hard to believe you can sell many at that price. Good luck.

Performance video coming soon...So then what would you pay for a custom piece like that? The deflector is not for everyone i understand that. Most people wont think its necessary. And will just suffer with snow in their face and snow building up on the cowl & auger housing. But there are a few that will want the solution and benefit greatly. I have spent over a year developing this custom piece that solves a problem. Unlike Honda engineers have. Lots of trial and error and development of something that performs all on my own time. I am making these all by hand to my exact spec. I am investing my time and material cost. So im pricing it according. Thanks for watching!

Nice professional job John, just curious what you do for a living? I would guess that you have a machinist background! Maybe Honda will implement your improvement or offer it as an option. Looks like you will have an opportunity to test it out tonight and tomorrow! Thanks for sharing, DC

Nice mod. Did you consider doing a chute, auger housing liner?
@JohnFrancoNH3 жыл бұрын
Dont see the need for a chute or housing liner really. More pieces that will wear out. Thanks for watching!
