Custom Hulked Out Homer Simpson Action Figure

Let's take a Marvel Hulk and a Fox/Disney Homer Simpson and make a Hulked out Homer!
This started with a Hulk toy action figure I started repainting but never finished. When I found a Homer Simpson head in my bits box I knew I had to make a Hulk Homer.
I wanted to more than just a head swap so I also sculpted a polymer clay donut out of Sculpey.

I already loved this concept but then the donut?! The donut is soooo cool/funny. That is the perfect cherry on top to this project. Oh and never knew the sandpaper trick for a road. Really clever. Loved it as usual.

I've been a professional spray painter for 22 years (everything from bicycles to fighter jets & vintage cars) & i can confirm yellow is always a pain in the backside! I would have primed with a white or light grey 1st? If mixing your own (airbrush or just brushing) you can tint that primer with a little of the top coat too, as long as the paints aren't widely different i.e. (oil vs water arent gonna go well) your top yellow won't be so transparent & you'll probably get away with two top coats 😊

It was a cheap craft paint called Brown Sugar and the pink is called Dragon Fruit.

Oh, I did the one arm melted a little so the second arm I wrapped it in aluminium foil and didn't have any problems.😬

I am wondering why, if you had so much difficulty trying to color match the body to the head, why didn't you just repaint the head alongside the body? Overall, I like the idea and finished product but I would have made the neck closer to non-existent.

The head was a softer plastic and i the past I have had trouble getting paint to stick to the soft plastic. I actually sold him a D-Con to a huge Simpson fan. 😀
