N-American homes oft have generally large kitchens. Decreasing that size would mean custom options cost less. Single wall kitchen with an island is already trendy in some markets.

I do agree- homes in NA do tend to be on the larger side. Single wall kitchens with an island are just as popular here in specific housing styles. I have nothing against custom cabinets, or RTA cabinets. In my mind, they both serve their place depending on the project, budget, and home.

So why did you go with Dendra rather than some other company? I think there a company in Edmonton that makes custom doors for Ikea cabinets and then there's Semihandmade.

There is a company in Edmonton (Kitch), and I have had a couple of Canadian clients use their doors. I worked with Dendra because they are built from first hand client projects. I liked that they started through a need in their own renovation projects, not just seeing a niche to be filled. Additionally, they are US based where the majority of my clients are also located. Finally, they have a huge selection- larger than many other aftermarket makers.
