That was a magical trip down memory lane for me. About half way through the video you briefly filmed a old white Yamaha 175 trials bike. I never had the trials version but I did have the DT 175 enduro in a gorgeous dark green. Of all the bikes I've ever owned that's the bike that shines the brightest in my memory. It's also the bike that turned me into a biker. Where I grew up at 16 I could get a licence to ride that but had to wait another year to get a car licence. I wasn't particularly interested in bikes, but at 16 a bike equaled freedom. A year later when I could finally get a car licence I wasn't really interested any longer. I was completely hooked on bikes and I've never lost the joy. It wasn't long ago I was searching the internet for an old Yamaha DT 175 in need of a resurrection. One day I'll find one that needs to be stript Back to the last nut & bolt an rebuilt to it's original magic. Thank you for that unexpected trip back down memory lane and reminding me why I fell in love with bikes to begin with 45 years ago. 🥰

I had almost two years of not riding, thanks to lockdowns, shielding and then not having a rideable bike and it was so, so good to get out again, not just for the freedom of riding, but also to re-engage with the riding community. Within weeks of getting back on the bike last year I found myself helping to organise the London DGR. What a beautiful baptism of fire riding through London with hundreds of other riders! It's great to see the Heralds, I've got a soft spot for a good looking little 125cc, I don't think much beats them for riding round London, they squeeze through every gap, they're so light and nimble, hugely economical and when the speed limit is 20mph who needs more power?

Our mini-me has decided she wants to ride, I'd love to say because she has a cool dad with a cool Triumph, but actually it's down to the amazing, empowering women she's doing her tattoo-artist apprenticeship with, but no matter, she's caught the bug and hopefully she'll find the joys of riding, just as soon as she's done her CBT and dad has finished building her her own bike.

I do the same, I set my SatNav for "Home" as I head out and then take whichever roads I fancy. I'm never really lost because Google is telling me how to get home, I just ignore her till I'm ready to head back.

So good to see this footage of your first ride out of the year, such a great reaction to it and you captured it well on camera/voice over. You've put everyone in the mood for blowing their cobwebs away for sure. Wicked little big shop too. Can't believe how sick that little tough Herald 125 looks, very few learner bikes grab attention or get blood pumping... but that one is way cool. Genius styling and attitude.
