Sorry im back, keep forgetting things. Shield your body cavity with foil, and foild behind each pickup. I screw in 1/8" aluminum plate (cut from and old frying pan if you like) under the pickups and thread the plate for machine screws to hold in the pickups instead of wood screws. Then run all of your pots and pickup cases to a single screw driving in so it contacts the foil. Do this at the end before the output jack. Its called a star ground and a couple high end builders do this. If you do it youll have a quieter no hum guitar you cant buy at a store. Read up a lot before you build, it pays off.

@Redgethechemist4 жыл бұрын
@@rpgaleksy Actually, you don't need to have all the fancy tools and stuff, it just makes your work a little easier and more accurate, you can make a decent guitar using only hand tools and reclaimed wood. I made one this summer as well, a 3/4 crossover guitar with nylon strings and cutaway. Only from pallet wood and it was my first time bending wood, I had some failures but eventually succeeded. It costs me around 30 € for the preamp and piezo mic kit, frets and keys. Of course, you can't compare my work to tchiks's one as I am a real beginner, but I'm satisfied with the result considering the starting material I have and the small budget project. The guitar I made looks really good, I did a coloured stain on the wood as I don't really like pine wood aspect. And I have only a small garage, it's been messy for the whole summer, but that was worth the disturbance.

I've just found myself thinking that I would love to have a guitar with a video of it's creation process like this! It was a real pleasure to watch, thank you!

Wow... Now that was a guitar build. And the father/daughter interaction is the icing on the cake.

It amazes me that there was probably more effort put into making the knob for the pickup switch than I used for making my coffee table. Well done, keep building!

That magnetic truss rod cover is a very nice touch!
