Interesting factoid, if you've got it in the right spot the taillights will actually dim and brighten when youre on the brakes. Takes a bit of knowhow, or the official kit, but it works well.

Nicole- My gosh, that little sign is EXACTLY what I need to do for my Megazords. I love it. Thure- that little resistor pack was adorable! And I need to utilize breadboard more. Making sure it works BEFORE I start soldering would be a much better operation 😆

Great video guys! Diffusing the taillight leds was a nice, subtle touch and the display stand is super classy.

Glad you liked it! The tail ligh grinding was a last minute thought because the LEDs seemed too harsh. I (Nicole) personally like the stand the most lol seeing that was the only input i had in this project hahaha

I am going to do this mod as well. Do the brake lights get brighter on this model when you press the brake? Also, do the lights stay on when the car is not moving, or only under input?
@WhenGeeksCraft3 жыл бұрын
As long as there is battery power, the lights will stay on!

Great job and very nice stand. Would be great if you could wire a button to turn on the lights and run the motor a little from the stand. Curious if the glow forge could make headlights for the Kyosho autoscale r34. The 20th anniversary chrome blue R34 uses stickers for headlights despite having great plastic molds for headlights on most of their other autoscale bodies.

The glowforge could definitely cut really thin plastic for it. So could a vinyl cutter. The head lights are small enough. We almost had to make new headlights for this one because we dropped them in the carpet!!

Really nice! You can use a dab of liquid tape (black) on the inside of the rear / front lights to stop the light bleed from showing on the inside too. Great work :-)

For the yellow LED's with resistors.. (I am doing this mod, lol). I did not see how this went together and was wired in the car. I assume the yellow lights are connected the same way as the main headlights (one of the led legs + to the other one's -) and then the other +/- go to the power. So, where are the resisters in that diagram?

I recall seeing a smaller scale Celica WRC RC car in my sibling's house in early 2000s. I never figured out the manufactuer for that Celica WRC!

What is the difference in battery life with the extra leds? Do the extra leds cut the battery life significantly?? I’ve ordered 50 jst connections and a tonne of leds, looking to make my own.

We didn't notice a difference!

Hi man I got a question a bout leds I don't know much about them if I whanted to put 3 leds to make a head light do you have to have a resistor for each individual LED or can I solder 3 in series and add a resistor to the end of the 3 LEDs thanks mj

Put a little black paint over the led and that will stop the light pollution in the body
