Hi Paul, long time no see, I let go of captivate during the pandemic, but thinking about coming back to it, I must say, it's a bit disappointing to see that they haven't made a new version yet, elearning is exploding around the globe, but 99.999% is just video tuition and if you're lucky some exercises thrown in from a plugin and maybe a Telegram group. Everything I learnt from watching your channel (would have been impossible without your help) allowed me to produce my first course which still blows people away as rarely do people see interactive videos, having said that, I put hundreds of hours into that course because of Adobe Captivate on top of all the rest of things (glad I did though). It's great to see you're still making videos, I'm editing the vids on my next course and wondering whether I should go the extra mile again and make it INTERACTIVE. All the best my friend.

Yes, interactive is always better. Everyone thinks about Adobe Captivate 2019 as so old and obsolete. I can assure you that the team at Adobe is constantly working hard, improving the existing version, and preparing for the next release, which should be sometime in 2023. In fact, Adobe Captivate 2019 was updated to a new version less than three months ago (version 11.8.1.219). I use Adobe Captivate 2019 daily, and I don't find it lacking. It can assist me in producing eLearning that looks good and is completely effective at teaching the concepts and skills my learners need to use.

I'm always happy to point you in the right direction regarding questions about Adobe Captivate. If you need more than a simple question answered, you can purchase a one-hour one-on-one session with me at bit.ly/Cp1on1. If you only use some of that time, that's okay. You can bank any unused time (15-minute increments) for future sessions. For example, if you use 30 minutes, you can use 30 minutes later.

Very useful video! Quick question... is there some way to disable that text popup icon that shows when you preview responsive fluid boxes in the browser? I've been getting that icon showing up even when the text area seems to have plenty of room to scale. I also have "Enable uniform text scaling" set to 10 pt! Which should allow for the text to get pretty small before that icon rears up its ugly head. 🙄

It really comes down to your design. Your choice of font combined with how much text you have attempted to include per slides are the issues. That said, you can always replace this icon with something more pleasing to see.

Paul, I am fairly new using Captivate, and have a question about the process shown in this video. Do the questions that are added with this method (custom image with multiple choice) automatically get added to the scoring? I am not seeing that it is, but want to make sure I am not missing something. Thank you!

I think this is just a knowledge check question. There are a few extra steps to make it contribute to the score. Basically, I have two hidden next buttons. One with score and the other without. If they get the answer wrong show the one without a score and the ones with a score of they get it right.

Hey Paul.. Great video once again! i have created a custom quiz that shows users how many attempts they have left(attempts 4) I have created this using states and advanced actions & variables, however, the text which displays attempts left doesn't disappear after the user clicks on the screen.. is there a way to achieve this where the text with attempts left appears after the click and disappears before the next click?

It could be because the built in captions might be throwing your logic off. Try making your own captions.
