Thank you Paul, you have been more helpful at times than the support, you're a treasure.

Thanks as always Paul for your helpful videos! Is it possible to generate text to speech audio without having a caption to go with it?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely. While you have to use the captions to generate the text-to-speech, you can turn off Closed Captions for your project. Click on Project Properties, and then deselect Show Closed Captions.

Great tutorial! Can you comment on how you get your own subtitles in German, for your English-narrated videos? I am curious whether these are auto-generated or whether you programmed them in yourself. And if auto-generated, how do you ensure that they are accurate grammatically and context-wise? Thank you so much for all of your wonderful videos. Appreciate what you do!

Once I download my SRT files from KZbin, I use this tool translatesubtitles.co/ to translate it into other languages. Presently I'm experimenting with Spanish, German, Hindi and Thai as these are the most popular languages besides English for viewers of my channel. I know that there are some inaccuracies in the translations but I figured that the odd mistake in translation is better than offering no translation at all.

Nice video Paul. I'm inspired to start using the new Captivate. One question - I noticed there doesn't appear to be a progress indicator option for the new playbar. Do you know whether Adobe intend to add it in a later release?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
If it's something you need there is a feature request option in the Help dropdown menu.

what about shapes ..and importing PowerPoint

Both features are coming. Adobe plans to release new versions of Captivate 12 about once per quarter. Eventually everything will be available in the new Captivate.

it also looks like we are no longer able to edit the sound file by actually eliminating pauses and adding a fade in or out? This was very helpful Paul, but it appears there are limitations

Is there a way to influence the auto-generated speech pronunciation like we could with Captivate Classic’s Speech Management feature?
@CaptivateTeacher6 ай бұрын
Yeah it works but it messes up the closed captions. You will need to replace any VTML you had to add in the closed captions. I'm really hoping that Adobe comes out with something much better than this old text-to-speech they are still using. I'm presently using WellSaidLabs for my AI voices. Here is the manual for altering text-to-speech: static1.squarespace.com/static/54de2360e4b0d951fb185990/t/5a49c87b41920273ab9182a4/1514784892779/vt_eng-Engine-VTML-v3.9.0-3.pdf

Is there a way to add audio to the flip card widget on indivdual cards? It seems to be blocked. After 12 years in Captivate (and being Adobe Captivate certified the last 2 years in CP), I have spent the last 2 in Articulate Storyline and RIse due to a job change. I have to say that Articulate is much easier. Being an old school CP user this all new interface is drastically different. I 'm not sure why Adobe stayed tied to the slide format with blocks instead of just doing bloxks like Rise does. It seems to complicate things more.

Hi Cheryl. I know you already know what I will say but for the sake of others, the widgets don't allow for additional audio narration for the reveal elements. That said, I have several videos about how to build your own custom solutons for this situation.

@@CaptivateTeacher Hi. I am looking for a solution to this as well. Which videos show how to build a custom solution?

Is there a method for attaching audio to the widgets, i.e. when the user selects a page on a carousel for example, that action would start a audio playback for the relevant text
@CaptivateTeacher10 ай бұрын
Presently there isn't a way, however I recommend that you ask for a feature enhancement for your idea. Click on *Help* and select *Provide feedback* to let Adobe know of your idea.

sorry for all the questions Paul, but I am sure many are asking, how do we view the assets and obtain a copy of the audio file?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
You'll need to return to the standard timeline and open the slide swimlane to show the audio clip. Right-clicking on the audio file allows you to Play, Stop, Export the audio, Edit, and Delete. You can also start the audio from the current Playhead Position if you'd like to change when the audio clip begins.

Can I add multi language close captions?

Not presently.

I was able to find the download audio file, also editing the sound in the timeline to insert or reduces pauses, but no fading.
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
Good stuff. Yes, for things like fading, you would need to use an external audio editing tool, but you can suggest this as a feature you want from the Help > Provide Feedback link.

how can we make the text not show on the screen, simply the audio after we scripted in?
@CaptivateTeacher Жыл бұрын
Click on the icon at the bottom right of Adobe Captivate. There you can turn off Closed Captions if you don't want them to appear.
