Very informative, I'm wondering could the inlay as well as a coat of finish could serve as the under wrap in place of a tradition thread based under wrap? Thank you, I'm always learning from your videos

Found the video! Thanks for the info. I got my abalone from Mudhole. Not great looking. Any sourcing recommendations?

I guess you like Heatgun vs. soaking it in hot water? Tips on not getting cracks?

There is different types of abalone veneer. Some you use a heat gun, which I find easier, and then others you have to soak. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Did/do you any cracking issues and any tips on dealing with the seam (looks)?

@@travisthompson3700 - yes, cracking issues with the water technique, so that is why I prefer the heat gun type of abalone.

Can you use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun
@reelbluecustomrods10 ай бұрын
You could, but it may take a little longer to warm up. I would use a heat gun if you can get one though. Hope this helps, and thank you for watching.

If you run a cover thread and you will lose your seam
