Beautiful work! I want to do the same in my 16' wide cabin - I'd like to eliminate rafter ties. Also, as I understand adding a King post to the truss would make it considerably stronger? My idea is to add couple of these trusses to have extra ridge beam support in the middle of the cabin - am I thinking right? By the way, what was the approximate span (width) of the room in your project?

Good build the Gable should have been run horizontal to give the narrow length to the eye?

If the structure is already built, then what is actually holding up the roof?

There's a structural ridge, but we used the scissor trusses in lieu of collar ties.

@@Sweenorbuilders @3:28. Wondering how this scissors truss is actually connected or attached to the roof rafters. Is the strip of wood on the finished ceiling (@3:28) nailed to the underside of the rafter to help attach the scissor truss to the rafter ? Thank you.
