Here’s a look at the custom Star Wars Black Series 212th Recon ARF Clone Trooper (Battlefront II & The Clone Wars).
One of the most frequently asked questions I get is what kind of paint/tools do I use. The answer to that is:
I mainly use Tamiya and Mr Hobby paints (regular and Gloss). Other tools
I use are paintbrushes, toothpicks, files, X-Acto blades, super glue,
Dremel, Tamiya Masking Tape, Tamiya Pla Plates, Hasegawa Application Sheet (masking Support), tweezers.
I also make sure the details are sharp by wearing magnifying glasses. And of course, wear filtered masks when spray painting!

The arf troopers are one of my favorite troopers in star wars, was so shocked when the geonosis arfs got added to battlefront 2. This custom is absolutely amazing very well done, i can't imagine how tedious the camo pattern was to paint

Hey so happy you like this one. Actually the camo is quite nice considering it’s freehand, so a nice break from the masking tape exercise i usually do. I’m actually working on the 41st ranger heavy now (w camo and all), the geonosis spec ops, and also commander Jet. Hope you like those too!

Your camo paint job is fantastic! I have not attempted a star wars camo yet, but having attempted real world camo patterns, I know it is not as easy as you make it look. I like this shorter format, though I wouldn't mind a little bit longer look at the completed figure to take in the details.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes I feel the shorter format is a bit snappier, and I am working to eliminate some extraneous transition moments and use more jump cuts to keep up the pace. I will work hard to strike the right balance.

This figure looks simply amazing, your paint work is top notch. I've been messing around with painting Clone Force 99 and I do have some sloppy looking brush work, I also am not using the best paints either, so that's 2 strikes. Lol. All of your work is just perfect. 👍

Thanks so much! I still have lots to learn regarding hand painting. I see guys that churn out many customs and I’m practicing as well. For more regular shapes (like the decals on clone force 99) find it useful to print out the graphics on regular paper, and then use a masking sheet (hasegawa brand produces them) and then lay it on top of the graphics. Then carefully use the graphics as a guide to cut out the masking sheet. Peel the masking sheet away and use it on the model itself as a template. I also recently got a starter set of citadel base coat paints and they work wonders. Using magnifying glass for modeling also helps a tons. Good luck bro!!
