That is going to be one beast of a truck once it is done pal. Dont forget the tank trailer to put on the back of it.😁
@scotty555babe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, don't think it will have a trailer, I did want a tanker or a bulk tipper originally but now it's stretched I think an airstream caravan would look awesome 😊

WOW THAT'S NICE!!! Looking like something I would see at a Truck Stop, here in Arizona. 👍👍 I don't use a SINGLE Phillips Head screw on ANY of my builds either. In your recent video, you mentioned lots of Tanks on your Rig.... Have you considered cutting up a few Grand Hauler Tanks, to make a massive long one on each side? I'm sure you're able! 😉
@scotty555babe2 жыл бұрын
It's the best way, especially when building a showpiece, the last thing you need are posi heads all over, I'm not too bothered on my 'working trucks' I can make longer tanks, just some simple cut and shuts, fill, sand and repaint 👍👍

Great video as always from you I love watching your builds and when you go to the truck meets and show us some fantastic looking trucks,looking forward to seeing the grand hauler build as I'm in the middle of doing a stretched grand hauler but with a double sleeper cab ,can you tell me where you got those chassis rails from or did you cut off he ends to make the sloped ends ,
@scotty555babe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks appreciate it. Extended sleepers look great.. The chassis rails are from Truescale rc

Looking great,only just seen this build and catching up on the vids. You mention the out of scale pozi heads bolts and swapping out with hex heads. on the close up of the rails it looks like the hex holes in the heads have gone??
@scotty555babe2 жыл бұрын
Cheers.. The bolts are an actual Hex bolt which are screwed in with a socket not the Allen type Hex head 👍👍

I have a Ford AreoStar tractor by tamyia that i have had for many years. I built it from a new kit. I have since totally rebuilt it with all aluminum billet parts. Extended rails too. About a 6" stretch. Aluminum rims. Lisu aluminum front bumper, 3 axles 6x6 setup. Lisu transmission. Aluminum 5th.wheel hitch. Aluminum behind cab guard. All aluminum cross members on the frame too. Loads of money for the parts. I feel your pain. Lol I wish i could send you some pics. Of it. But have no way to send them.

The costs mount up when you look back and realise everything you do to them, I could have bought a real second hand truck so far 🤣 There'll be many more builds like this in the future 👍

OK. You want to know what I think? This is where modelers get thing wrong. Is this a Kenworth or Peterbuilt? The sleeper is Kenworth. The hood looks like Peterbuilt but the grill looks like KW but the steps look like A Pete. Newer Pete's have one ridge, older Pete's have three. The doors are not correct for either truck. KW was rounded and angled for the wing windows except for early seventies models and the rear part of the door windows were flat and the bottom of the door windows were tapered toward the glass. Pete's had sharper angles on the wing windows, no taper and still the same sharp 90 degree angle on the back. Pete hoods were kind of rounded and newer models of the truck had one ridge straight down the hood. KW were angled from the windshield slightly to the emblem in the grill and the center line spread out to the edge of the hood next to the windshield. Just some things I noticed. But hell as a truck driver the going joke was if Paccar which makes KW and Pete's ever got together with Freightliner then that would be a "Peter worth shakin'". But I guess a "Peterworth" is something. Attention to detail man. Today there is no excuse to get it wrong, right?
@scotty555babe2 жыл бұрын
Great explanation, it's a crazy truck to work with when deciding to build a KW, Pete or 80s Freightliner, if only they got the licence rights to a particular truck but it makes great fun researching and trying to make it into something, I'm going for the w900 but like you say the top of the hood slopes to the emblem and other little bits.. It's all great fun and I'm sure it'll be pretty accurate once completed 👍👍

@@scotty555babe Man you know I really hate watching movies that are supposed to be in New Mexico and filmed in Arizona with Saguaros or Joshua Trees in the back ground. But man you can put any sleeper on any truck and customize any truck but the emblem that catches the bugs is what needs to be right at least as far as the back seat goes. OK. So the Fenders are a problem and you are kit bashing right? How about with that Frame leaving the hood and kit build a Double Eagle sleeper? Yeah I know most people don't know but a short hood Pete cab with separate headlight assemblies with a three point ridge down the hood with a Double Eagle sleeper like some O/Os drive specialized like bed bugging, high dollar auto, or jet engines?
