I know it has to be driven but it'd be right at home a showcase. I think I know what colours you're using on the body. Definitely the Max 10, it's black and silver. Frigging great job mate! 👍🍻🦘🇦🇺

Thanks Ernie! That's awesome, great project. I convert a Manta Ray to a Dirt Thrasher, then upgraded the chassis to the FRP so now it's really a Top Force with a Dirt Thrasher body 😂. Have a Happy New Year and I hope your build goes smoothy! 👍

Mick! I totally loved this video, I watched it 3 times already and I'll be coming back to it many more times for sure! Like I said, I got something similar coming, I'm just a few months behind you in my schedule, ha ha! It's almost scary how much your build is similar to what I'm planning, black and silver, with some gold here and there. But it's funny, I'm putting aluminium in pretty much different positions than you, and it's other manufacturers. So it'll be same-same but different! I also got Revive body, I bought 2 in case I screw up the paint job, ha ha... The shocks is my biggest worry, I think... No idea what to do... I was thinking about some nice Traxxas shocks, but eventually I might just go for the Top Force Evo ones, not sure... It was cool to learn from your video that the front shock tower is different, I definitely want the original Top Force one, I like it's so damned tall! I think that was enough, I wanted to comment so much, but I'll put a cap on myself... Have a good one!
@RCHobbyShed3 жыл бұрын
G'day Mads! Glad you liked it mate. Haha, I thought I was the slowest with this one. I started collecting parts in 2019. I saw your parts mate, your Top Force will look magnificent! I often buy two bodies at the same time in case I mess up too, great minds think alike. I think the standard Top Force front shocks will look cool, like you say they are very tall. Will be great to see your Top Force finished, can't wait! You too mate, cheers. 👍

SWEET top force! Subscribed!!! I'm building my rere EVO now. Built the rear gearbox dry, because I'll add the speed tuned spur to get rid of the alloy gear when it arives. And I have bought two steel 23tooth tamiya pitch pinions too. Thats the smallest pinion i can use with that spur. It works great in my 35yo top force stock standard with 13,5 hobbywing combo. I just got some aereation shocks for it though, but havent fitted them yet. I drive it more than any other car I have, so it deserves its first upgrade=) Cant wait to drive the evo with ball diffs and the one way. Putting the same 13,5 combo in it, but now the wires are all colors, last one was all black wires. Soldering is needed=) I just ditched the fan, 13,5t dont need a fan IMO. The top force with the same setup with fan never gets over 90f. The motor and battery keeps under 110f too..... Keep up the good work=)

Very nice. Thats a trophy car. Would you know if the final assembly weights more, less, same than the stock? You must have enough parts to build another. Nice car collection too. Your Mrs. must say your Shed is more RC Hobby Warehouse.

Thanks James! I don't have any scale but I imagine it will weight much the same. I used most of the left over parts on my Dirt Thrasher a while back, so not much of this one left. Thanks. Haha she is cool with it, I had a lot of my cars before she came along. 😁👍

Looks very cool so far. Does someone make a hex head screw kit for the Top Force or did you just buy the sizes you needed individually? And do you need to worry about going from the coarse thread tapping screws to the finer thread hex machine screws? Could the plastic strip when you change to the new screws?
@RCHobbyShed3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just bought the sizes individually. There are kits out there for them but I couldn't find one at the time so just went for individuals. I managed to find both course and fine thread in hex head screws. After building the EVO I noticed some of the course thread screws used in the standard Top Force have been changed to fine thread in the EVO, so I think the fine threads will be fine if that's all you can find. 👍

Hi Mick, Awesome work. May I ask, can I use VQS high cap damper set for Top Force? I know is going to be front shock lower than rear one...
@RCHobbyShed3 жыл бұрын
G'day John, thanks! I think the VQS rear shocks will be OK, it might sit only a tad low but should be fine. The fronts will be too short though by a lot, maybe 15mm or so. I guess you could drill lower holes in the Top Force front shock mount if you really want to fit them. 👍

Mick, I've just finished the chassis on a '21 Evo, building it to box Tamiya spec, with one change; I'm upgrading to a much hotter brushed motor setup, a 15T single. A bit old-school (I'm old, too, so it's fitting), however, I'd like your thoughts on the power capabilities of the standard gearboxes, as I've seen others using an aluminum set of reinforcements that are available from a gentleman in Serbia, I believe. I noticed your choice for power is a brushless setup (usually quite torquey), so maybe you have some insight on this issue? Thanks so much, and great job on a fantastic build, in every way, sir.
@RCHobbyShed2 жыл бұрын
Sounds good, it should run great with the 15t motor. Old school is still cool, it will be a beast! I've not had any issues with the gearboxes. I have seen the alloy braces around the are available, but as yet I've not seen a gearbox pop apart from the power, brushed or brushless. So I don't think it's really needed, I think they're really just for bling. I run a 4300kv brushless motor and LiPo in my Dirt Thrasher, never had an issue with the gearboxes. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
