G'day Mr Gary, You know you really handle that torch like a pro now. It wasn't that long ago that you couldn't weld for shit. But you have really progressed. You're now a fabricator and a good one. The next thing is clearance lights. So thanks for sharing man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
Hey Kevin! Yeah my sheet metal skills are still lacking, I’ve always been decent on the ticker stuff especially once I got a better welder that has more amps. I’ve been toying with putting lights down the side but can’t make up my mind. There’s one in front and back, so for now it’ll probably stay that way.

Another great installment of VWJAWBREAKER. I enjoy watching your Overland Camper evolve. Your vision is impressive it is only outdone by your engineering skills. The engineers in the fancy air conditioned offices should spend some time with you in your shop. Heck, they might learn a thing or two.
@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
Thanks Mike! We’re pretty much done with the build, even though eventually I’d like to line it to match the Sickxty. Sometimes priorities have to shift due to this or that and family is always first. Haha, I highly doubt they would step out of their office to spend time in a hot environment 😂 Although I have met a few really cool engineers in the past.

More great improvements! The extra weight you're putting on that new front rack will help to keep it from swaying. I've had a small trailer to sway...it ain't any fun. Keep up with the improvements, I love seeing what you come up with next!
@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
Thanks Brian! Believe it or not, it was balanced just about perfect before. I could hood highway speeds and it tracked well. With the longer tongue and basket, my tongue weight only went up 15lbs but it’ll be much easier to back up and tow.

@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
I originally wanted the angle to flip around like you did but wanted additional strength on the underside of the trailer. Plus having it this way, if something is larger than the basket, it’ll sit flush 🤷♂️ It makes sense in my head 😂

Wow! That’s a lot of welds! That thing is stronger than a brick $&it house!
@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
It’s overkill so I’ve been told but in this case I’d rather overdue it and be safe. I even had the guy look at the welds, his only critique was practice going up hill with the welds. He said he would have turned the bracket so I could have gone flat again.

So what kind of trailer brakes you going with. Might not need them down in the flat country. They sure make a big difference….
@VWJawbreaker9 ай бұрын
You know, I did think of that but came up short. I took it out and did some panic stops and the Sickxty with 4 wheel disk brakes stops is shocking well. Plus we are pretty flat here unlike where you’re at.

Thank you sir! I always end up at Deland Metalcraft, they are just shy of downtown Deland. Great people and reasonable prices. The expanded metal for the front was less than half price of Homedepot.
